I spoke with Ken from GTSPEC on the phone.
Very nice guy and very professional. I don't want to stir anything up put I thought this must be said.
GTSPEC's only interest is to get the products to the consumers hands, bottom line. He told me that they are promoting the products through the forums so they can be more in touch with the end user. I think this company has the right idea!
Ken stated that the braces for the FX are a new product and with all new products, they will go into production and be available after some time, but this is a process. He indicated that the parts will be in the production line in about 2 weeks and they will make X (not clear on count) amount of them and eventually stock them either in house or at distributor locations. With that said, the GB will get the parts to you sooner (1-2 months sooner. includes customs) because GTSPEC is paying for EMS (air freight) from overseas. Normally the parts come on ocean freight, which takes more time. I would believe either transit will require a 1 to 2 week customs inspection time when it arrives. Also our vendor here has asked for 100% payment which they have every right to do (I would, it reduces admin time and paperwork ) but they do not have to pay 100% for the product until they receive it from GTSPEC (only 50%).
I thank Z1 for taking the initiative to bring the first GB in and continually supporting us here. Z1 will provide the braces to you sooner if you want it sooner, but GTSPEC (and other vendors) will have these braces by the end of Sept (as per Ken)(at least by Oct)
No knock on Z1, but we are a close knit community and sharing ideas and comments is what we do.
I would like to propose an idea. Instead of a GB, we can have a internal list and payments made to a IS account (hypothetically) and we can deal with vendors as one entity. That will make less admin work for the vendor (more work for Admins

)and hopefully reduce costs. IS will be essentially a 'reseller'.

no flame intended:err:
