NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Applications open today for the 2017 edition of the INFINITI Engineering Academy, INFINITI's global search for the best and brightest engineering talent.
Now in its fourth successive year, the Academy will once again offer one engineering student in the U.S. an unparalleled opportunity to join a 12-month placement working on both automotive and Formula One™ technologies, thanks to the technical partnership and strong collaboration between INFINITI Motor Company and the Renault Sport Formula OneTM Team.
"We are very excited to offer seven engineering students from different regions the possibility to join this technically rich, multi-discipline and multi-cultural engineering placement once again," said Tommaso Volpe, INFINITI Global Motorsport Director. "With Formula One more relevant to the automotive industry than ever, and with the enhanced scope for collaboration and real technology transfer that the Renault-Nissan Alliance and our...
GENEVA – INFINITI has enhanced the Q50 premium sports sedan, which makes its global debut at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.
The new Q50 features refreshed exterior and interior design, and innovative technologies designed to empower and support the driver.
"At INFINITI we seek to empower our customers on their journey and experience with us – whether it is with our products, with our forward looking technologies, with our services, or simply a passion for driving. There is no better vehicle that incorporates all the elements of the INFINITI brand than the Q50 sedan." Roland Krueger, President of INFINITI
The enhanced sports sedan retains its sleek proportions and athletic stance, while establishing greater visual differentiation between model versions, including the performance-inspired Red Sport 400. Through the Red Sport 400 grade, INFINITI's designers have brought the model in line with its 'designed to perform' ethos.
GENEVA – INFINITI's Project Black S explores the potential for a new INFINITI performance grade, featuring unique-for-the-road technology inspired by Formula One.
Suggesting a radical reinterpretation of the INFINITI Q60 coupe, the Project Black S features a stand-out, aerodynamically-optimized new design. It also hints at how a performance hybrid powertrain – developed in close collaboration with the Renault Sport Formula One Team – could significantly enhance the performance and dynamics of an INFINITI production car.
The performance hybrid powertrain being explored through Project Black S features an 'energy recovery system' (ERS) to harvest energy, deploying recovered electric power to boost power and torque. The result is instant, significant, lag-free acceleration. Inspired by the dual-hybrid system proven in Formula One, the technology does not yet exist in a current road car.
A new 'Black S' grade, showcased by the new concept, could represent...

"Following record sales in 2016 of more than 231,000 vehicles, it is gratifying to see that customers around the world continue to appreciate the design, performance and quality they expect from INFINITI," said Roland Krueger, president of INFINITI Motor Company. "Our momentum is of course led by new products, with the QX30 and Q60 now on sale in key global markets. In addition, we are pleased to announce our expansion into New Zealand this year. The momentum continues next week when we unveil the new Q50 in Geneva next week. The Q50 is our best-selling vehicle globally and was the first production vehicle in the world to come with...
