the cam washer is a washer with the center hole drilled off center, it's called a cam washer cause it looks like the cross section of a cam at the lobe... picture a restricted area for the washer to sit in, it can't move side to side... as you turn this washer you are then moving it's center either in or out... so if the center is at 12 oclock relative to the actual center, the adjustment is centered, at 9 oclock it may be all the way out & at 3 oclock it would be all the way in... this is how the suspension geometry is adjusted... this center is the position of the arm as it passes through the bushing...as long as the cam washer stays in it's position nothing changes... like viet said, make a mark on the washer & the adjacent area & then you'll know it is in the same position...
