GT Spec Suspension Bracing

Sorry Mongo, didn't mean no offense. Just meant to say there is really no need to be exact on with torquing down the bolts. Just need to hand tighten it down really good that's all.

it would be logical to think that the bar would be less rigid if only the outside was welded together. maybe you can inject some jb weld in there or something.

I have the modified bars - and a couple weeks ago I was on the 10 fwy and saw something on the road and figured i can clear it no problems - well I forget my bar hangs down pretty low (as some of you have seen in some of my pics) and the item smacked my GT-Spec bar. No issues w/ the Bar.

Updating . . .well nothing bad to say so far. I dont go offroad, so clearance isnt an issue so far. That bar is pretty low though, so maybe just in a matter of time
Was able to get in two canyon runs today, & a few perfectly banked onramps, & MG!, These things have really transformed the handling. I cant get over how well this two ton - HC of gravity vehicle can take the corners. Going in, the predictability is so enhanced, that inducing a little bit of slide at speed is not so scary anymore. It bites so well now at exit, that acceleration has really improved. I really love these bars.

i love that you can see the bar from behind... the height shouldnt be a problem unless i drive over a 2'boulder riight? funny... i just got asked if i wanted to go offroading next week in santa barbara...

Was thinking . . . Now I know why Doc had over 3 seconds on me at the AutoX. . . . My stockers, & no bars. Need I say more?
I know it wasnt for lack of power cuz the track didnt really have any real straights. It would be nice to see the real diff btwn R, & AWD, at this point. I'm 100% sure that my handling is at least 20% better with my setup as of today.

the only thing I've done so far have been taking turns with absolutely no braking... And I know that the people that don't have these or haven't gotten their's yet may be thinking "...it's in your head" BUT NO, you really can tell the difference... definitely one of the best mods so far and cost wise.... one of the cheapest. Of course, I'm assuming that people that are considering these bars are already lowered.

Thats been one of my favorite things so far about this mod. Taking those turns without braking that I would've normally tapped the brakes through.

There shouldn't be no problem with hitting the bar unless you drive over a rock shorter than the width of your rear inside tires. With a speed bump the bars height to the ground will never change because the bar is centered right under the wheels.

btw, I meant to say... well, lemme explain something else first.
When I got my wheels from ShadyJC (Jonathan) back in March, I had some serious vibrating issues. At approx. 55mph-70mph my steering wheel was shaking like crazy. I had the wheels balanced and it only help a little. But I found out later that there's a better balancing system call "RoadForce"... which I never got around to find a shop near by to try. Anyway, then... Shady asked me if I checked the tire pressure... which turned out to be most of the problem. I'd say after putting the proper tire pressure it got rid of 90-95% of the shaking.

okay, so here's an additional comment to the GTSpec bars. Since installing them... the vibration is now completely gone!!! And last night... running late to meet hotmanali and his g/f at the movies (which was sold out anyway), I had no choice but to really haul ass, taking circular on/off ramps at full speed! My problem was... I wasn't "trusting" my FX enough at first, I wasn't really pushing it. But on the way home... There were no traffic and I just let her go at it... and WOW!!!

anyway, as you can see, I'm not good at writing reviews... but I just had to add my final 2cents on this mod....

This is what Rookie & Doc & myself have been saying......GT SPEC bars kick ass!!!
Ken you should play on the 605S to 91E interchange.....that ones kinda fun!
The on ramp from that Torrance meet was a really tight turn - you should try that one too now that you got the bars on.

what about the 57north going onto 60west (just after Diamond Bar area)? I'm thinking about (one of these days) taking one of these ramps, and mounting that camera on the side where you can see the front wheel turning...

The 57N to 60W isnt that tight....its more of a wide sweeping turn.
You should film it......that would make a good footage. Or maybe mount the cam on the rear quarter panel. :top:

you guys don't go killing yourselves, it still a crossover , still have higher center of gravity.

Turnbull Canyon has seen many fatalities. I know there are many bikes that do runs there also, so be careful guys.

Ken, glad that the braces are helping your wheels from vibrating.

don't be like this FX (with or w/o brace): (sorry bcheng4jc about your FX)

cut from the org
"with my gf friday night driving back to her place. (was 2 mins form her place). exiting off the highway and was going too fast, not realizing the ramp was so sharp. couldnt make the turn, hit the curb and lost control, bouncing back and hitting the right curb as well. messed up both my 2 left wheels. and blew the front right tire as well. control arm snapped, and my front left suspension. have to call the towing company monday to see where my car is. hopefully there's not too much damage.....sigh bcheng4jc "

Nice to hear you guys enjoying your vehicles. I wish we were located closer to some of you Cali guys. I'm sure your FXs handle pretty good for what they are but I bet some of you guys would be in awe after a ride in one of our shop 350Zs.

BTW just in case anyone is interested we still have five front strut bars and one rear tie brace (the completely straight brace that goes above the exhaust) still available at the group buy price. If anyone is still interested shoot me a PM or E-mail.
