VK45 –Stage 1 Headers/JWT cams/TB/intake

Yessir - Long tube 4-2-1's. Just looked at the pic again, whole lot of piping going on in there. Running debate on sound - How it will sound and just how loud it will be.

woew, nice long tubes, didn't know he was going to build long tube tri y's, those are sweet..... should really make some nice torque improvements

Those look great! The sound is going to be ridiculous! What are you doing for the rest of the exhaust?

Not getting any good offers on the M, so it's being parked so I can begin working on it if I don't get any decent offers in the coming weeks.

Headers runners are going to very close in length....Really liking the fact he is so into this build. There will be testing on the G35 extension pieces/cat deletes for sound VS. power hmmmmm.....don't want to wake the neighbors but I want the power.......

1) You will want the cat delete. Your VK45DE will come to life, it will be loud, but good loud. I'm imagining a exotic V8 like a maserati or lambo type volume with more "metallic" sounds.

2) Make sure the cat delete provides a bolt-on solution to re-bolt your Cats on if required for emissions. Don't want to be cutting/welding too many times on that exhaust.

These replace the factory cats right? They're longtubes basically? One option would be the Motordyne y-pipe with the different attachments, i.e. resonator, HFC, straight pipe. But you also had those secondary cats or something I remember, hmmm.

I say this while wearing my MD Engineering shirt. :tongue (2):

1) Love this thought, if it has to be loud tuned is the target. 2) Agreed, wonder if I should dig up some HFC's quickly?

No HFC option?
Looking now, if something has to go back on it would be nice to have better flow than the OE CATs.

Just checked with my guy, he made room for the HFC's already.....

yeah you can use the same cats like I'm using, def no room for any kind of stock fitting cats anyway, just the race cats which can fit in the pipe behind these no problem. a 3" cat is only like 4" in overall diameter... those with an O2 spacer in the rear sensors should pass most any inspection unless thew inspection guy really knows what he is looking at... most will see cats, check... no trouble codes, check... inspection passes...

What cats did you pick up John? Liking the sound of the minimal diameter. I still have hopes that my GTS mid brace may fit.....

What about those OBII only emission tests? Unless the HFC throws a check engine light, I figured it will pass? Just a guess.

I have the Nismo up to the G35 extension, the tubes end close by. He said there would be room to squeeze HFC's in there if need be.
