turbocad's custom fx

Both of course . I like the cluster idea too but I would just wait for one with the cruise control. What setting was the dimming in the cluster set too in that picture?

that's full bright. I guess it would have been nice to have the radar cruise too, but if I ever came across one with it I would buy it & sell this one, they almost never pop up & you could be waiting a really long time... for the almost $400 or so less it was over buying it new I don't mind so much really, I hardly ever really get the chance for cruise anyway, if it didn't function at all that would be bad, but the display alone lost is pretty minor...

Hey John, when you swapped out the gauges, did it pick up the miles from the FX you got it from?

Edit*

and NO I didnt forget about our meet, just been busy thats all. Hopefully Saturday if it's OK with you.

no, the mileage is stored in rom on the cluster itself, it can be changed but as of right now my fx has 11k miles:4tongue:

Dam, is there a way to double check the mileage just in case this sort of things happen?

Also, how hard was it add the extra power wires to the new cluster? and was there soldering involved ?

mileage displayed is about as useful as a carfax report:tongue: the only way to really be sure with a used car is to buy a used car from a family member who has owned it since new, otherwise mileage is just a number:cool: you'd be surprised just how many cars out there are not 100% actual mileage...

the wiring is easy, it's only one wire... technically there is a special terminal that is necissary but I didn't have that available last night so I just shoved the wire into the terminal, it could work like that indefinatley but I will get this terminal & install it next time I'm in there

I am not sure how strict Infiniti is on cluster swaps, but with Subaru if you swap your cluster you void 100% of your warranty. There is also a company that can put your correct mileage on the clusters for you www.tacomaspeedometer.com

I finalized my tailight design. I'm using a duplicate of the ring in the reverse light. that is no longer a reverse light either, it's a red tailight too, so double heads, double tails... the smaller spear is from a new g35 sedan headlight. it will be yellow turn signal & even though it's small it's going to be super bright. it also has a tiny lense opening to the side which is nice. there will be a recessed hidden reverse light that will just look like a black lense when not on. these tailights will probably also have reflectors built in so the ones on the bumper could be eliminated eventually. I think they look like a nice match to the headlights.

no man, these tailights are still a lot of work, this is just mocked up with the 2 cut pieces placed for test fitting, I still need to build complete bezels from them, build lenses for the 4 round openings, bodywork & paint, then i still have to cut open the reverse lights too for paint & lense there & convert them to tailights too.they may take a month or more at least to be ready to go on the fx. the headlights are very close to done, I'll start painting them today, i still need to order all the leds for the headlights too though so they may actually be in the fx in a week or 2... I hope:rolleyes:

Whoa! Those babies turned out better than I was imagining. I wasn't sure how you'd pull it off but it looks great!!
