What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Washed it again, along with some Ice Detailer. I noticed that someone must have smacked a door off the front end below the headlight and dented the plastic. Ever realize how you can park 50 spaces out from the first car and some jackass feels a need to park next to you hugging the line?

Did the Tuf Shine application today. This is two coats and it's plenty for me. Fairly simple process and dry to the touch. I'm hoping it lasts!

Can you give us a weekly update? It looks great.

I will do so. Forecast looks nice all week here with no rain, which is why I applied it today for the first time. So it may be some time before it starts to fade. Wish me luck!

Supposed to be 60s and 70s with lows in the 50s for almost the whole next 10 days. I think the blizzaks will be coming off soon.

Jonas, I broke down today. It was 60F out and Karen and I went for a nice 4 hour drive on my Blizzaks. When I got back (around 3 PM), I said screw this and took them off and put on my 20" Enkeis and Yokohomas, which took me about an hour. It rides and handles so much better now.
This is the earliest I have ever changed them. I still have my winter tires on my GMC Crew Cab though in case a freak snow storm should hit us.

Dragged the "new" motor into my tool shed and began disassembly. The good news is that i was able to get it out of the rain without hurting it or myself.

The bad news is that I found evidence of water damage. I was expecting it, but a little part of me was keeping the hope alive to see clean valves. Oh well...

My plan is a full disassembly/possible rebuild, and I'm going to start a thread for it later to document the process. This is by far the most complicated engine I've ever cracked open to date. I have to say its pretty nice to be able to do it without the obligatory vehicular downtime. :)

^ thats crazy!

Offroaded my fx today, in bear mountain, fx rwd did really well very amzed, also i had about 90lbs of trunk weight!

Put the spacers on saturday night. Snapped this pic this morning when I got to work. The fog was crazy so it was bright in the background.

Thanks! Not sure about the dtrl swap. Haven't really given that too much thought

You should! Really changes the look of the front. Right now, the running lights really wash out the headlights. If you swapped them, you will see a nice defined lighting from the two shrouds.
