What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Had an alignment done today. Wasn't out of spec that much actually. Mostly the rear. I'm surprised considering the shitty NY roads:

Hey Aaron, what made you do the alignment? Was it pulling slightly? I'm at 52k and I don't feel it pulling at all so I just felt no need to. Plus I have pretty much even wear on the tires.

Also, FYI, Handy Andy checked out my brakes and said I probably have > 20,000 miles miles I can run on them...I think the dealer fibs when they say you should change it out...probably mostly based on miles instead of actually how the pads are.

Wasn't really pulling. I just thought it would be a good idea to get one since it's never had one. Plus I just installed my brand new Yoko's 2 weeks ago. The previous tires wore evenly for the most part. Just wanted a piece of mind on my brand new tires.

Don't know if it's my imagination, but the steering feels slightly better though. I could be imagining lol

Alignments are cheap insurance to maintain good tire wear. I have had about 4 alignments so far. A few were the result of drpping the FX and then putting the OEMs back on again.

I sure hope you tested the setup first in the fx to see how it works. That box looks awfully small and may not be worth all the hacking your doing.

hmmm this was a spur of the moment thing so i had not thought of anything like that or setup
i hope its better than the stock...... lol im a noob so TT

Yesterday I had a crazy idea to clean my engine, got a bit dusty, I decided to take the engine cover to really clean it, and that's where it went to hell, looks like the previous owner had it removed and then put it back, and whoever did it, put one of the bolts in an angle, not only making it impossible to remove but also cracking the cover. So after some drilling and cutting I got it out, fixed the missing piece using some fiberglass and epoxy and to cover the damaged area I decided to wrap it all in CF. So here is what it looks like!

Wow that's so cool! Here I was looking to buy a cf engine cover and all I have to do is wrap my original.

Lookin' really, really, really sharp Adam. The silver CF really sets it off. :top:

Thanks Andrew and guys. I like it too lol, although the silver piece was a bit tricky around the V8 4.5 letters, since those are a part of the cover, so cutting around them was a real Snooki! Therefore not 100% perfect but overall I'm glad the lines all match.
