turbocad's custom fx

looks great.

Have you thought about having a staggered "look" setup? Have same size and width tire, but have a significant difference in lip depth? I think Pierce has a setup like this.

Maybe something like 4 inch lip in the rear and 2 inch lip in the front? Then you can stay the same tire for all 4.

I personally would stay with a custom 2 piece wheel, as I wouldn't want to deal with a possible leak in the far future, but you know how to fix anything=)

yeah, I thought of that, but I want the look of a big tire out back more than the big lip really. in a way I'd rather not even have a huge lip... still looking at wheels, still trying to decide if I just do wheels or chop up the body... in a way I wish someone would just hit my fx, would make the decision so much easier:biggrin:

Every time I see this photo of Turbo's FX,

I think he has these wheels.

I bet those cost more than wheels that you can see:tongue:

pretty sick, but you probably gotta take them off all the time to clean the brake dust I bet too:smile:

hey guy's, I got another sick little car in my shop & most of you guys are real gearheads so I figured I'd share it here, since I already winded up having the carrera gt in this thread figured I'd stick this in here too

a teaser shot, talk about fender vents:tongue: tommorow I'll take some more pics... this thing is pretty wild but it seems to be more of a real car than the carrera gt, it almost seems drivable really... I think I could dig driving this thing back & forth to work every day:smile: it's pretty comfortable & quiet in the cab, don't feel like it belongs on a racetrack somewhere rather than a highway somewhere, but it is pretty sick... it's even got decent ground clearance... didn't need to build ramps to get it into my shop like the gt, I have a customer with a 350z that even drags if I try to pull it into my shop because of the steep entrance, but this thing just drove right in:biggrin: love the exhaust comming out from under the fenders & the tailights in this thing are sick... def giving me some more ideas for the tailights in the fx:err:

 nice car. i must say the taillights are my favorite part. these seem so much more obsolete with the SL65 AMG Black series now.

ah, I dunno, hard to compare... this is 100% carbon fibre body, the 65 black is a metal car with some carbon fibre swapped out, nose & roof... I think this is more supercar & the 65 black doesn't trump it, it just fills the void I think...

thanks bro', was a much needed vacation, haven't taken a real vacation in like 8 years:eek:... last time I went to disney my kid was 4... was way overdue...

I'll get some shots up of the slr a bit later, gonna take the fender off of it now for repairs:4tongue:

BTW.. Love the lighting in your Shop..

I can tell you run a good shop... Best way to see if your doing the right job. So many experiences with my old Audi A8 and having to take it back because the shop could not color match the bumper to the body.

To make a long story short.... I got to see his booth and he had some dingy yellowish hue lights.... I asked him: "How the F*** are you going to paint my baby the right color when you can't even see what your painting"

After that he paid another shop to paint my rear bumper..

yeah, I did go just a little nuts when I built my spray booth. it's all custom, I even ceramic tiled the walls to not cast any artificial tones into the lighting & to be able to keep it surgically clean. I use special 5.3k daylight bulbs, even bleached the floor to not cast any color tones... funny you noticed that:rofl:

you should see the downdraft, filtering & heating system I had built for it... I guess I do tend to be a little anal sometimes:smile:

Man... there is nothing wrong in being good at what you do..This is the reason your doors are still open today..

When I do go to the east coast I will make it a point to stop by and check out your Shop..

Your're nuts. I can't believe you did all of that. Super impressive. I can hardly keep my tires rotated on time let alone choppin' and weld'n plastic and creating new vents, and oh yeah, installing a computer that i don't know how the hell works in a car. I'd pay to see the look on the face of the dealers certified mechanic when you drop it off for service! they're probably like what the hell, while looking around for a hidden camera :) you're the man... BB

yeah, but I never bother to even rotate my tires:tongue:

had it into the dealership twice, second time was funny, the tech was like wtf? what is this?, how did you get this? what do you mean you built it? guy was buggin out... guess one of those you had to be there moments, but it was funny... the look on the guys face was like total confusion

did they replace the impacted hub/bearing assy's at each wheel impacted? a lot of times the hub damage isn't obvious & at over $300 each they may not intially include them, but it's common after a wheel impact that a bearing can make noises... but I'd think after a complaint they'd at least have done them... either that or worse case may be diff issue... it sounds like it's def rotating problem... theres only so much that rotates, shouldn't be too hard to fix that. wonder how the alignment issues are... a little off & stabilty can go out the window.do you know what parts were replaced?
