FX Rear toe and camber kits.

camberf.jpg

Camber is the tilting of the wheels from the vertical when viewed from the front of the vehicle. When the wheels tilt outward at the top, the camber is positive (+). When the wheel tilts inward at the top, the camber is negative (-). The amount of tilt is measured in degrees from the vertical. Camber settings influence the directional control and the tire wear.
Too much positive camber will result in premature wear on the outside of the tire and cause excessive wear on the suspension parts.
Too much negative camber will result in premature wear on the inside of the tire and cause excessive wear on the suspension parts. Unequal side-to-side camber of 1° or more will cause the vehicle to pull or lead to the side with the most positive camber.

Did the Eibach kit today. Turns out the rear camber was out of spec after installation. I thought that would mean I'd need the alignmnet kit as you guys are discussing in this thread, but the guy at the shop said they would just slot the holes and make it fit - which they did. And it's great. Never saw any mention of going this route here - instead of the kit. Any reason?

Alignment numbers-
Left Rear Camber Before: -2.0, After: -1.2
Left Rear Toe Before: -0.13, After 0.23

Right rear Camber Before: -1.8, After: -0.6
Right rear Toe Before: -0.08, After: 0.13

You gave up toe to get the camber back in, as your suspension sags more and more you will not have enough adjustment in the stock bolts. The kits sold by spc replaces the cam washer with a different washer and requires slotting the subframe points to get more adjustment.

Camber wears inners yes, toe will tear your whole tire up.

Not many FXs will need more than the stock adjustments, but there are some springs sagging more over the years of use.

So for now I'm fine - you are saying that I just gotta watch the suspension settle over time. I'll probably order the kit in advance so I have it when I notice wear on the tires. Since they already slotted the subframe, the kit will probably just give me an additional amount of freedom for future adjustments.

...
Each 72055 kits comes with 2 bolts, 2 nuts, 2 cam washers
Camber point and toe point need 1 of each kit to add in the adjustment needed if you can not get back into spec
The FX stock camber point is too thick for the 72055 kits bolt
The FX requires a longer bolt to make the 72055 kit work
72265 is the longer bolts needed

Im going to order this and use it when I drop the rear more (cutting rubber spring
support and possible hole relocate)

I now noticed SPC kit #72265 come with bolts and washers now.

so I will order 1 of 72265 and 1 of 72055. is this correct?

thanks

+1, I might need a rear kit now but will verify after getting a print out of my alignment.

Rookie, do you still have the custom bolts to sell if I can't get my rear's in spec?
