FX Rear toe and camber kits.

Hello Rookie,

I just installed BC coilovers and had my local shop aligned the car a couple of weeks later. I used the SPC 72055 kit but the shop is not able to correct my right rear that is still off by 1.7 however they tried to correct it. I was told the bolt may not be long enough. Do you still have a spare longer bold laying around? Mind to sell me if you have extra?

Thanks.

I used the spc 72265 kit which has the longer bolts in the kit . my camber is very close to spec now.
but I need longer bolts to bolt my gtspec braces back on after I modify them, once the camber was corrected the braces are too long.

Thanks. I will try that.

Questions:
1) So I need to order two 72265 kit to correct the rear camber?
2) Would you clarify why you "can't bolt the braces back on" and "the braces are too long" ? Was the new cam bolt not long enough and the with corrected camber setting, the camber bolt is too close distance wise between the left & right side?

Here is my alignment reading.

1) Yes you need 2 kits
2) My camber was much worse than yours to start with (-3.8) this kit slots the subframe and pulls the lower arms inward to correct the camber myt arms were pulled in so much the longer arms mount points are too long to attach to the bolts now. This arm has lots of extra length to bolt the gtspec bar back on. Seeing your camber numbers you should be ok

The shorter bar I could elongate the mounting holes and bolt back on but the bolt does not leave you with enough extra thread to bolt it on. I called SPC to see if the had longewr bolts but the person I talked to said no.

I will try get a picture tomorrow when I can get it up in the air. I tried to get pics earlier but it was hard to show what i was talking about while crawling under there

-1.8 isn't bad at all, if you rotate your tires you will be fine.

I've been running -1.6 with H&R's and no uneven tire wear.

Yeah I agree, -1.8 isn't bad at all. I was surprise it off that little.

This is the mounting point for the shorter brace

You can see here how the length is almost OK but the bolt does leave much room to bolt it back on

The longer bar has plenty of bolt left but here you can see how off it is now

You should get your alignment done with the braces one. I had to elongate the bar holes for the bolts to fit correctly as well.
From pics above, the bolt that comes with SPC 72265 Kit is not long enough for the brace to bolt back on. I know you made some custom bolt to use with the kit? Do you know how long were the bolts?

Looks the rear lateral brace might need to shorten in order to fit from the last pic.

They were on when I dropped it off for the alignment/camber kit install. I would like to get a longer bolt for the shorter bar. the longer bar is off by almost a full inch more than elongating could fix

The suspension in those pictures is unloaded, that's part of the reason why the bar looks long. Flare flange nuts also make it tighter to put the nut on once it is in the bolt.

So would you suggest having the suspension loaded to put it back on and usond different nuts?

I still would like to have a longer bolt for the small brace it doesnt look like there is much bolt left after the brace goes on there.

Would keep the same nuts, they are serrated to help lock them. But yes I would put back on with the suspension loaded, The shorter bolts shouldn't be any shorter then the oems? I am probably running long bolts on all 4 points just because I already had them. Suppose getting 2 of the long bolt sets would be an option.

I have 2 of the 72265 kits with the longer bolts they are all the same size these ones just go through more material. The cam washers are thicker and I think thats what takes up the space on the bolt

Sounds like you guys already know this but just to add to this thread for anyone that has a lowered FX and doesn't have any special bracing I was able to use 1 set (2 nuts and bolts) of SPC #72055 for my toe and 1 set (2 nuts and bolts) of SPC #72265 for my camber. I ordered them from TIRE RACK but had some problems cause they don't show any part #'s in their invoices... they initially only sent me #72055 but after showing the CS agent my e-mails back and forth with their sales person SPECIFICALLY asking for #72265, they sent me the longer bolt set... so to fix camber AND toe on a lowered FX you just need one of each #72055 and #72265...

Bringing this back from the dead. Is this still the case? One of the #72055 and the #72265 should do the trick if I'm lowered on H&R's? Or should I go with two sets of the #72265 if I plan on adding the GTSpec braces at some point?
