Bubbling Dash Warranty Extension (96 months / Unlimited miles)

My new dash doesn't have the airbag marking either. I guess it's just a more resistant material. :dontknow:

Took mines in this morning. they said a couple of days. Got a loaner (g37). I must say, this little push button thing is pretty nifty.

Update...service center called me and said they were done, however, to reinstall my aftermarket head unit in the clock location, its gonna cost me $290 or I could take it to the place that installed it before. i think I will take option be, since that place was in my parking space at my apartment.

At least the dash part is taken care of. Should be no more boubles. Bout to go grab it now.

I got a service reminder email from my local dealer and I replied that I'd like to discuss the defective dash warranty... well, no questions needed, as he's reserved a G37 for me. So far, Kearny Mesa Infiniti has treated me well.

I'll ask about the airbag embossing.

What's the airbag embossing that you mentioned?

:eek.::mad.: Got my FX back with the new dash... What a piece of sh*t!

I realize a lot of you had serious bubbling and aren't complaining but I didn't expect such poor material... it's not even close to matching my original satin black, feels like sandpaper and outgasses like cheap plastic! The fitment is perfect (and it does have the airbag marking) it's the material finish that sucks. It looks like a blank that wasn't coated or painted. Now my interior looks cheap and I want my old dash back!

I'm going back to the dealer to find out if the older material can still be located.

Bummed.

that's the new material. I saw Stu's, & it sorta feels like sandpaper also

Any news about the airbag embossing and if they will replace the dash because of that? I have no bubbles, just the airbag imprint.

I took my rant back to the dealer and they shined up the new dash with some greasy teflon stuff that also made it look darker and smell better... BIG IMPROVEMENT!

I will find out what product the dealer used but I will be experimenting with other products. Since the dash is so rough, I would think the best rag to use would be lint-free and not very soft... maybe, over time, the dash would become smoother using a more aggressive cloth?

The warranty is for the bubbling issue. If your dash is not bubbling, I would not replace it. The original dash should have faint airbag markings and the wording "debossed" (I get those mixed up) ...I don't think it's a big deal if the wordings not there.

hi,

did anyone from nyc got this done? I've just called the infiniti dealership and they have told me that no loaner is required coz they will remove bubbly dashboard and the odometer issue within a day ; is that possible?:D

thanks,
chris

2008 FX35, 37k Miles.

Found the first bubble yesterday. Woohoo....

Once it starts there is no stopping it...lol.

Mine started mid summer, and like someone going through puberty with a bad case of acne, it was pockmarked by the end of summer before going in for the new dash lol.
