I see BLUE!!!!

yea i was in contact with that guy in Europe earlier today. he is asking 280 for it. A little to pricey for me right now. i'll keep my fingers crossed that you decide to hook me up!

I dug out the shot I took to show what power needs to be added to our plug to run an 06+ cluster, just putting it up here for reference:

Thanks Turbo...!! Got my +06 cluster yesterday from maxblast who bought an Canadian one for the KM in stead of miles. Doesn't bother me that much so i bought his "Old" one.
Now try to figure out what can be done with a color scheme and do it allll over again :err:

wow. that 06 cluster would be 10000 times easier to convert and could be made to look much more "factory" for what i want to do. guess i gotta look into one of those before i hack mine to bits.....

alright got a quick question?
how long did this take to change out all those led bulbs?

Took me some weeks in total, but that was because i had to sort it all out first and was working on some other things also at once. Normally can be done quick when you have all the parts i gues

looking real nice Ray.

Are those LCD screens on the side mirrors?

Yes 2.5" LCD screens built into the A-Pillars sort of like turbo/oil pressure cauges :glasses:

Working on a new topic of that and the rest i had down. Will post the link when ready

.......... those gauge faces are not exactly what i thought they were. it looks like just a face where you can access the back to sand off the amber. i didn't realize that that other plastic piece was there......

not 2 happy right now lol.

Ohhh so your doing it right now then....?? Yeah picture doesn't always tell the exact detail but we tried.
Wasn't happy with that myself either.....but as i mentioned before.... be patient and take your time. Sandpaper and some water and it 'll come off eventually

it's not the time or patience i lack lol.

does the face come off of that piece? i bought the 06-08 cluster because i wanted to just swap the leds on the board instead of having to cut and add - just seems like it would come out better for me that way considering the tools i have at my disposal.

i took it apart tuesday when i got home from work and i'll pretty much be busy and not home until saturday morning, aside from sleeping only, so i won't get a chance to mess with it until then. however, looking at home when i took everything apart, it looked like the face was a sticker maybe? at any rate, it looked like removal would destroy it.

anyone here with experience? for reference, i'm referring to the gauge that turbo shows in the pics of his disassembled cluster (page 9 i believe).

bit of good news i guess lol. i got all of the leds in yesterday for the cluster.

Unfortunatly i do not have any pics on my computer wich i can post but you need to sand that orange coating of till you'll get the clear white numbers.
You can see from the front of the cauge where the lights comes true so what to sand and what not......i used very fine waterproof sandingpaper with some water as i was affraid it might leave to big scratches behind.
It is plastic so some remover isn't advisable i gues but then again haven't tries it also. The way i did was mentioned earlier in this topic also so took that up for the test.
Also keep in mind that when wanting to mount the up-06 cluster you'll need to add an extra power wire......wich you can read about a few post beforen here. Turbo put a picture on it as well showing what's needed.....don't forget that ;-)

i read how you did yours. with this gauge though, you can't get to the amber. there's a 1/4 inch clear plastic piece on the back of the face. probably serves like a light pipe or something to distribute the led lighting. if you look at turbo's picture where the back of the gauge is shown, you can tell it's there.

also, thanks for the head's up - i know about the ignition wire that needs juice.

Jeeezz your right....!! Haven't noticed that. Sorry i thought you didn't get what i ment so kept repeating myself.
I have the plus-06 cluster here also but haven't begon on it yet.....still in tact so to say, but was planning on doing it also in time.
Hmmm keep me posted if you find a way would ya.......i will do the same if i pick this up sooner then you.
Is it hard plastic or a coating or such......still no option to sand then....??

Edit: quarter inch is quite something.....is it clued....?? you might be able to find a way to loosen it by heatning

it's a hard plastic. i'm hoping that the gauge face is maybe just glued on there and could possibly be heated and worked off of the other piece. i only attempted briefly, but, it doesn't seem like the two pieces can just be pried apart. i didn't really work it too much because i'd rather post up here for advice or opinions, etc. before i go do anything that i'm unsure of. you can see the amber tint on there - kinda teasing you lol.

**if i get any info before you do, i'll post it up. tonight i'm busy. tomorrow night i 'm working a side job and i may actually bring the faces there and try to at least look at them if/when i get the chance.

Haha teasing......and i always bite lol...

Maybe turbo has an idea....he will get a notification of our communication and keep himself up-to-date on this topic. He already took it apart.
I see the glans of the plastic on his pic now.

Will try to take it apart a.s.a.p. myself as well to take a look at it. Think best for you is to hold of the cluster for now and start with the dash and such.....that is if that's you plan of course.....haha

dash is done! except for that now i'm sick of the amber i left for the "on/off" so i'm gonna get some red plcc's and swap those out on the that and both heated seat switches. also, the doors are all done.
