What went wrong with your FX today?

BC and Megan factories are not that far from each other. I'd be very surprised if there was significant difference in quality given the near identical price points. I haven't had major issues with my BCs but I think one of my pillow ball mounts is going as well, I have a weird squeaking sound coming from that area whenever I get out of the car and close the door (whenever the car moves up/down it squeaks from the strut area). And I had a strut blow last year, sprayed oil everywhere. At least it's easy to swap a new shock body in.

check engine light went on again after like a month. Wonder if has something to do wit my gas cap or if its something serious. dealer wants to charge $130 just to read the freaking code

So took it to a shop across from where I was working and the guy did it for free. He said it's a max flow sensor and that's it's common with infiniti and Nissan vehicles. He reset it and said if it comes back he could take care of it for me.

I think it's the MAF (Mass air flow sensor). Just remove it from the intake tube, use a MAF cleaner from CRC, spray it down and air dry.. It should fix the CEL. The sensor was probably dirty.

Cross-threaded and then totally destroyed the center door mount (btw, if you know what this thing is actually called, let me know so I can order the right part).

What I've learned - these things come apart and go back together easily, but every time you do it you risk breaking another piece of plastic.

UPDATE: In case anyone is trying to find this, it's part 80958N (for the passenger door).

Part No. 80958-1CA0A
Lookup Code 80958N
Part Description BRACKET-FRONT D
Location Lower Passenger Side

That's very common with the BC and MEGAN coilovers. Just remember to tighten them every time you change your oil... I can't remember what the torque rating for it is though... Anyone?

UGH! Are you gonna rebuild or replace? I just bought a set to replace my MEGAN's and so far they're MUCH better quality over the MEGAN's...
Are the Megan coils going to be for sale? Is it for a 2nd gen? Thanks

I acutullly have to tighten it every 3 days

The MEGANs went in the garbage... They're terrible... And for 1st Gen... I think there's one set of coilovers designed for 2nd Gen FX's... They're pretty much the same design, but specifically made for each of the different Gens...

YIKES! That sounds BAD!!! Have you checked to see if there's something else wrong to make it loosen up so quickly? Have you been tightening by feel or using a torque wrench? I think I remember it needing to be something like 80-90 ft/lbs so if you're doing less than that, it's probably wiggling free quickly... Also, ever try any blue LOCTITE on it? Will probably help quite a bit...

It only need 35 ft-lb for the three nuts. You may want to try using the stock nuts to see if it holds better.
