What went wrong with your FX today?

Oh ok. I can't see why it's not the same torque spec as factory. I have installed & replaced over a dozen of these coilovers cartridges over the years using factory torque specs without anyone telling me it came lose. Just be sure you hold the center rod with a wrench or an allen wrench while tightening the nut.

It's a very common problem with this design of coilovers... Even has a bunch of HOW-TO fixes on YouTube... Usually with a tag line of "hearing a clunk from my coilovers"...

I'm surprised too that the center nut would come loose. Mine is always on so tight I have to use an impact to remove. If it comes loose every 3 days, something else is wrong that's causing that much movement.

Literally flushed my I key down the drain.... Need to get another but the dealer wants $175 for the fob and $150 to install.. Such a rip!

Long time no see fellas! Think it's time to replace my coilover setup. Rear shocks have gone again and my ass is bouncing all over the place. Time to upgrade... :)

Why are so many of you with coilovers having to replace them so often? Are they all subpar qualify relative to oem? Even Jeep JK aftermarket stuff lasts longer, and people put those through a beating. I have yet to see a stock shock/springs needing replacement thread.

My guess is it's because most of these kits are made for lighter cars, so they take a little more abuse with the SUVs.

The hardware is made to fit the FX, but in general, coilovers are designed for lighter cars, so sometimes the heft of a SUV can wear the shocks faster.

rear passenger side window stopped working :(
Try the switch in the door, mine was finicky from drivers control, so, I just reached back and that one has had less use, whoosh the window works fine.
Stupid tired old connections or switches.:poop:

Tried replacing my clock spring only to find out it was an ebay replica and the angle sensor plate didn't lock on the slots behind replica.. Therefore, my sensor went out of wack.

When I started driving, my slip lights turned on and a weird noise like the abs was activating.. Weirdest experience ever. Put my old one back on, it's a bit better, but that problem still happens. Now.. I sit here at a Nissan dealership which will probably have to reset the sensor to its neutral position

Finally called it quits. Replacing my rear hatch lock today. It was working intermittently and now nada. Bigger and more complicated part than I thought. Hopefully this cures

Anybody experienced electrical freeze while driving? While driving my gps and radio became unresponsive no matter what i do. I tried turning them off and nada. After awhile the infocenter reset and no more issue. No other indication on the dash board. I was worried that the Fx would do a run away without any driver input.

I had that when I first took over the FX (2011 used, bought in 2015). Turned out, the radio/gps unit had issues where it would not respond initially then later (afer 3 mon I think) created an internal open circuit which constantly drained the battery every other week. After a few research from the local stereo shops did for me, they said it's pretty common for this particular unit to do this when it gets old, and the only way to fix it is to replace it which would cost $4.5k to $5k just the unit along. I ended up bought the Infiniti 3 yr extended warranty ($2.5k) and got it fixed in 2/2016. No issues ever since.
