What went wrong with your FX today?

So that went wrong, new muffler and new pipe leading to muffler...OR cut it off and went straight pipe instead of flanges and done

Coming down from snowboarding last night, the fx lost power for a split second. I thought the trans slipped. Then the VDC Off/ Slip/ SES lights lite up. When I got home, I tried restarting the car and it was hard to start. Came to IS to check symptoms. All old posts lead to the camshaft sensor. Took it to autozone and of course got the P0340 code. Bought the bank 1 camshaft sensor, and took about an hour to replace. I couldn't get the dang connector off.. that thing is hard! finally with some needle nose holding the connector down and pulling the sensor i was able to get it off. Then the dang bolt didn't want to go back in either... AND i lost a midget 10mm wrench down in the engine bay to be never seen again....

205,000 miles on the original camshaft sensor.. not bad.

Way to fix it yourself Andrew. Oh and if you ever need to read any codes while your up here I have a code reader.

I broke a valve cover bolt!!! How do I take it out ? My dumbass overtorqued it thinking that I was barely tightening it :mad::mad:

Maybe if you take the cover off there might be some of the bolt protruding you could grab onto.
If not then a left hand twist drill bit could do it and if it doesn't come out with drill bit alone use easy out in the hole.

Doesn't look that hard to get it out. I would spray some penetrant such PB Blast on it and let it soak through. Put a nail or center punch on it and tab it with hammer for a bit before you start removing it. The vibration from the tabbing works well on seized bolts and nuts. I would use tape to mask the area up so that there is no chance of any debris or metal shavings fall into the engine block.

Was on my way to work this morning and felt the fx kinda lose power for a second so I look down and notice my temperature gauge is on hot so I pull over right away. I pop the hood and noice that the overflow tank is full of coolant! What a way to start the weekend, now I have to figure out what's going on with her.

I'm suspecting the thermostat is bad. It is stuck close; therefore no coolant can flow through the radiator for cooling.

Is there anyway to check if it's the thermostat?

The only way I know is take it out, throw it in a pot of boiling water and boil it to around 192 - 200 degree to see if it opens or not.
Really by that time I wouldn't even bother with testing. They're cheap. Mind as well replace it with a new one.

Dude, this same thing happened to me not too long ago... Odd

Not sure and I'm still confused as to what caused it.. I asked in the Random Question Thread

That is weird, well after some investigation I noticed that my upper radiator hose was collapsed and that means that it could be the radiator cap causing a vacuum leak. So I checked the cap and a real was kinda torn so I bought a new one and bleed the system just to make sure no air got in and just went for a drive and she's back to normal. I thought about replacing the upper radiator hose but I'm just going to order the blue samco hose kit.

So my heater/AC blower went out again today so I thought no big deal easy to change and I had one on the shelf because it quit about 8 months ago so I ordered one but it started working again before new one arrived.
When I unplugged it I found this mess. You would think one of the two fuses would have blown but no.......
