what oil do you put in your fx?

4 stroke oil from spectro

what i can tell you guys, that' i'm getting great results, using 4 stroke engine oil for motorcycles, you may say by your selft , it's this guy crazy ? not, if you compare both oils and engines, the quality need it for maintain a motorcycle working at 18k rpm and also the heat of the engine is higher if you compare from the temperature and rpm range of a vehicle. Results;? better viscosity! high protection to the frictions and better power and aceleration results.

Brand= Spectro
Type=0w40 full syntectic
Made in= USA

as the topic states, which type of oil do you guys put in your fx?? do you take it to the dealer where they rape you for prices? do you do it yourself?? do you use regular, synthetic, semi-synthetic??

FYI, From what I've been told, 30 should be your highest weight used. 40 tends to get too thick for our lube system as it gets heated up. I've been told it's not designed for that heavy an oil. Take it for what it's worth though. Might just be another myth.

BTW, Welcome to the Scene!

Mobil 1 5w-30 changed every 6000km ~ 3570miles.
=======
Switched to Amsoil 5W-30.

I haven't changed my oil yet, over due now, I have no idea what the previous owner used, is there any problem using synthetic on a motor with 55k that may have not used synthetic prior?, I've heard rumors that synthetic should be used from the begining, & not switched to on an older motor, any ideas or opinions on that?

I may be wrong, but, I think you should be able to switch to synthetic from regular oil regardless of milage, but not from synthetic to regular...

From my knowledge - if there are small cracks in your engine and you're using dino oil and seeing no leaks... when you switch to synthetic you might get a small leak/drip. I think due to the molecules being smaller.

55k sounds fine - I'd switch over to synthetic. But then again, if you change you oil every 3k miles, no real need to. The advantage of synthetic is that it doesn't break down like dino oil, but you still get impurities in the oil after time as it's not a 100% concealed system.

Engine is the heart of the car, I figure if I go overkill on maintenance - why not be the engine oil=)

about your rigs..

Looks like you chage the color of your wheels? if you does look s like you painted with Dark GUM METAL color? if it's can you tell me the color code you use, i tried but i can't match the same color, i did the painted but is not entirely equal of what i'm looking.

Regards,

Oil Change

I use walmart's full synthetic 5w30, changed every 5,000 - 7,000 miles. You guys who change oil every 3,000 miles, it's safe to go an extra 1,500 on regular oil and 2,500 - 4,000 on full synthetic.
