Discussion in 'FX (03-08) - Engine & Drivetrain' started by robb<35>, Sep 24, 2007.

  1. as the topic states, which type of oil do you guys put in your fx?? do you take it to the dealer where they rape you for prices? do you do it yourself?? do you use regular, synthetic, semi-synthetic??

M1 full synthetic 10/30. Sometimes I take it to the dealer, LMS or EZ Lube but always with my own oil.

Amsoil XL Full Synthetic 5W-30 w/ Amsoil Ea012 Full Synthetic Media filter.

I do it myself. Great oil, & very very free revving after each change. Deff. recommend this combination.

i heard great things about amsoil and mobil 1 , at around which mileage is good to change the cabin mircofilter?? to get a basic service from the dealer for 50,000 km service they want $530 cdn, i have private mechanics who can do the work but for that price thats riducolous, just to do oil change & filter, ''battery service'', check the belts and replace the cabin microfilter

I believe in the owner's service record manual, it states when all these things should be looked at and replaced. I'll take a peek when I can.

    Nice link Psiclne!

I'm guessing that the cabin micro filter is the 'ventilation air filter' and needs to be replaced every 15000miles?

My dealership said, "It's dry and cracking, you should change it." Think I paid around $200. Who knows if that was true or not.
