what oil do you put in your fx?

hi guys,

I just finished watching a shocking 30-min video shot at precision Z doing an independent study (shoot out) between several different Motor Oils and Additives.

They tested Castrol Syntec, Mobile 1, Penzoil Platinum, Motul, Nippon, Royal Purple, and Enios. There were also MOA and Lucas additives tested.

The results was Royal blue and Enios were the best performing with over 10lbs of weight, few quart-bottles on top of the weight, and the oil pan removed. There was very little wear on the bearing.

The next test was all oils with MOA and Lucas additives and MOA made a Huge difference in all the test. When tested with Royal Purple and Enios, it blew everything out of the water including a IRON rod on top of the wait. There was almost no wear.

Among the worst was, Motul, castrol, Mobile1, and Penzoil.

The best performing was Nippon, Royal purple, and Enios, hands down. I think they concluded that Royal Purple with the MOA was the best.

I've used Mobile 1 ever since I bought the FX in 2005. I thought that was a great products, but now, $8 a quart for Royal Purple sounds great.

Where's the Amsoil?

Did not see that, Amsol does come up as "Best Oil" on google search. But according to them, they've done this test 2nd year in a row. Maybe next year they'll include Amsol. I'll ask what they think they next time I'm there.

mobil 1 oil is a crap!

Motul is big time better! but even Motul is the best one! i've heard about motorex! to be one of the fitness oil on the world , but why to try out with royal purple.

does any of you test that oil before? feel any diference?

I'm gonna try Royal Purple. I'll get Precision Z do a 2 runs of Dyno and then change my oil to royal blue and try the 3rd run. I was told by a few people that it acctually shows up on dyno:rolleyes:

excellent!

i have ordered! maybe in one week i have the product on my hand to make the test.

you know that you should do also! i change the grease of the differential!
and my FX now is moving more smoothly better that before.

but i ordered the 5w20! and i will do a drag race to see any difference.

my lowest score at the moment is 15.5 on AWD 1/4 MILE.

Ionno... sometimes I think these things are propaganda paid for by the winning brands. I've seen tests somewhere that showed Royal Purple actually being horrible on the motor even though it frees up a few ponies. To each his own, but I've seen "completely independent tests" show different results also. My biggest gripe with this is what I already talked about with RP showing baaad wear in certain categories. I'll try and dig up THAT research so that you guys can get a wider-based OPINION on the best oil since I have yet to see solid info that corroborates said results.

I Don't know what research you've seen, but If I had not watched the video that the guy who works on my car shot himself at his shop testing different brands of oil, I would be a skeptic myself. These guys use royal blue on their own cars and motorcycles as well and these guys live and breath Nissan (precision Z).

do your research, and let me know the results.

Question on oil

Guys, I searched but I guess I didnt do it right for oil choices etc.. Because I know it's on here somewhere. Anyway I just got my oil changed the other day at Infiniti. My truck's got 31k on it. I will get it changed every 3k miles just to be safe and I plan on doing it myself next time.

So i was curious as to what you guys would recommend me running in it?
And what kind of filter as well?

Thanks in advance!

Honestly... I use wal-mart synthetic 5w30 and an FX45 oil filter
