Thanks guys. I just finished breaking everything in. Everything feels great, no noise, no squeaks, reduced pedal effort, slightly less "spongey" feel in the pedal. Overall a great improvement over my warped oem rotors+carquest pads.
Two surprises: First, the braided lines didn't have as big an effect as I'd expected. Maybe the pads and rotors need a little more time, or maybe there's an air bubble in the system somewhere but my brakes still lack that rock solid feel I was hoping for / expecting. Still a HUGE improvement, but 3% disappointing. I think driving Logan's JBT-equipped Silver Surfer ruined me in the brake feel department...

Second, I forgot about the new rotors burning off the factory coating and subsequently smoking...quite a lot. After one of the first 40-5mph burn in runs I was at a stop sign and straight up panicked when I saw smoke pouring out of the front left fender well. The first thing that entered my mind was that over-posted youtube video of the FX burning to the ground.

I jumped out, ran to the front and popped open the hood half expecting to see a burning rag or something. You can imagine my relief when I realized it was the spanking new rotors...
Overall I paid about $700 for the brake upgrade, not including install time, and I'm very happy with it. Like I said above it's not on the same level as a real bbk, but it's a huge improvement over the stock setup. Tres bon.
