What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I finally purchased some H&R springs for my baby now just have to wait to receive them and find someone to install them. Can't wait to see how it will look and how the ride will feel.

Heard back from the body shop :( the $1100 estimate has turned into 6000+

Luckily insurance is paying for it. I thought it was just bumper, fog light, fender trim, laser cruise

They said the radiator support was cracked as well as a few other things. the voicemail cut out

I had front & rear rotors, and pads change...wheel bearin...tie rod, and last but not least my fan belt. a grand total=$1200

Had to get my brakes done last September at the dealer since I was leaving the next day for school. My SA was like yeah you could probably do it yourself but I doubt you want to deal with that. I was amazed at the cost. I think $400, just for the rears, new pads and refinished rotors.

That's not so bad really, for stealership labor and oem parts. Resurfacing rotors seems like a PITA... :dontknow:

Doing the brakes yourself is real easy. 4 major bolts and your done. 2 bolts if your only doing pads. I'd say do it yourself as a learning experience/curve.

Got the factory pads with the hardware kit for 60 bucks on ebay. Rotors from R1 concepts (drilled/slotted) 200 bucks.

DIY-priceless. =]

+ 1 brakes are very simple and nice to know how to do. Pretty much all the same for most vehicles. I've only done rotors though . haven't touched drums yet but heard their easy, just need different tools.

Branding the FX. I always park and drive next to FXs when I see them. Hopefully this will bring more FXs onboard from East Michigan. :iS::tup:

Walked by my ever increasing Pile o' Parts and sighed heavily at the thought of waiting another week to get the time for an install day...

As a consolation installation I swapped my chrome license plate bracket for a rear mounted black version. Not sure how I feel about it just yet...
