What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

So Wayne you wash and clay really well and then do the sealant?

Would you say it's better to do sealant 2 times or sealant then wax on top?

I worry about waxing on top of sealant will get rid of the sealant more.
Yes when I start the season , I strip off the old coatings and clay it well.
Then I put on one or two coats of Zaino. Later through the season I will usually give it another coat of Zaino.

I prefer the protection that a couple coats of Zaino sealant gives. My cars have stood the weather test being outside year round in the sun, snow and rain.
Some of my friends like to give the sealant a top coat of their favourite wax to give it a deeper shine. If you do this, you can do more coats of wax but not sealant. You have to strip it again to do the sealant if you have wax on there. If you wax on top of the sealant, you still have the protection of the sealant underneath.

Good info Wayne. I will get some Zaino myself. Your method works as I see it on your paint. :good:
Wayne, let's just said that I miss the fogs.

Buddy of mine just gave me some Z3 and Z8 he had, I think someone gave it to him and he didn't want it either. Only thing I'm worried about is that the Z3 is less than half full I think, not sure about the Z8. Should be fun to try out though.
Stu , the Z3 is a sealant for a car with regular paint, no clear coat.

The Z8 is their detailing spray, you should try it after you wash or wax your car.

Does the Z8 or any of those have wax properties in it?
Z6 and Z8 are basically the same thing although the Z8 is the more expensive and is supposed to give a better shine than the Z6 but I don't notice much of a difference. IMHO it is better to use the cheaper Z6.
i'm not sure what is in them Jonas, but it is a gloss enhancer. You can use them in between sealant applications or washes, or as a detailing spray. I use the Z6 all the time.

I asked because I wasn't sure if like you said how you absolutely cannot put the sealant on top of wax, if the Z6 or Z8 with it's shining products would make the sealant not adhere as much if put on top of it.

No it is fine to use, I actually lube my application pad with Z6 when applying the Zaino sealant. Zaino recommends the use of the z6 or 8 with their sealants.

Coolant flush, blacked out rear emblems (will have pictures up tonight, actually used "Carbon Mist" color, looks pretty sick - to me), started gear shifter custom build (also pictures tonight)

The carbon mist color sounds nice. Looking forward to pics, also keep us posted on durability!
