VK45 –Stage 1 Headers/JWT cams/TB/intake

Great numbers on the DYNO Logan! I would recommend going with resonated high flow cats if you are concerned with sound issues. We need to go racing sometime haha!

I'm going to try the test pipes first, to see how it tunes out, if its not crazy loud and dynos north of 300 with the TB I'll keep them.

Congratz logan. Quick question where did you find these tuners? I am from nj and cant find any tuners or anyone to do my shift kit. I know i can do but but i am lil nervous about messing with the trans.

You don't need a tuner to install your shift kit. Nor do you need to tune your car after installing a shift kit. Any reputable transmission shop can install the kit for you.
But if you do need a tuner, I have a friend in Carlisle PA, that is a very knowledgeable tuner: JK-Tuning.
I was recommended against a shift kit because I have the UPREV. But Logan can shed more light as he is a matriarch on FX mods!

Thanks your your help. I did call them already. I have the Unichip sitting on the trunk for almost a year now, I didn't want to hook it up with a basic tune. Yea I know a Transmission shop can do it, but the problem I have is finding a good shop that knows what they are doing and not going to destroy something on the process. Logan sorry for hijacking you thread.

Test pipes will more than likely fail emissions and dirty up the exhaust tips rather quick. But if DYNO runs are at 300 then you're gonna have to give up a little more noise and carb pollution to satisfy your need for speed!

As Exotich said pick your best transmission shop for the shift kit install. Interestingly enough Uprev just released new tune data for the transmission portion of the Nissan/Infiniti tunes. I know my shift kit combined with yesterdays update the shifts are smoother and crisper.

Generally speaking you won't have problems with emissions if you tune and you are using an OBDI port as you can tune for mix. I also have anti-foulers so no worries on my part.

:congrats: Lance, those are very nice numbers. Since quite her down is your objective, I wouldn't even bother with HFC or test pipe!

^ Was waiting for that and was pretty sure I knew I where it would be coming from.......

Just cut the pipes off right at the headers Andy?

Hey man, this is a self help thread dedicated to power and the like, feel free to jump in anytime. make sure your tuner is a pro tuner and is listed on the UPTREV site as a trained tech.

Anywhere I can read about this UpRev UpDate to the tranny mapping? I don't think I knew that the tune affected that.

I'll ask the tech what to ask for. When I checked in he asked all the normal basic information, I signed the waiver and he said "oh by the way, Uprev just updated their Nissan/Infiniti tranny data", "it makes the shift points firmer yet smoother" he seemed excited and he is not an excitable guy. I'll vouch for his statement, it made a difference on top of the transgo, not sure if it pushes the shift points or how it interracts with the shift kit.

In theory, would this tune to the tranny be an equivalent alternate option to transgo or stillen vb upgrade? (I've only heard this a possibility from an Infiniti tech)

Tell you what Rich, given any opportunity I'm driving to NYC.

No, just noticed more 2-3 clunk than usual, and one time it took longer to shift.

My Transgo was never as form as I would have liked but with no base line I wasn't sure what I should expect. Tim "tchucks" ride had a tight solid shift I never had and over time my Transgo has become a bit less noticeable, the uprev update has brought the "aggressive lunge" back to the shift points.
