turbocad's custom fx

Congrats on the find John! If I need a spare seat or two, I'll be sure to raid your parts basement!

i've been to his little workshop down there. I think that if you tried to sneak down there some robot made of FX headlights and tail lights would come out and devour you:eek:

lol John, are you trying to host your own series of top gear in your basement?

yeah, I know what you mean, I got a deal on my fx that was too good to pass up as well, didn't matter what color it was at that point either

I'm soo happy with the brick interior though, feel like I got a new car all over again, well, that is when ever it does actually go in. don't want to mix match & have some brick & some tan, gonna wait till I can at least do the black carpet & get the rest of the brick panels & trim at least... headliner I may be able to live with for a short while if I have too. still need all the rear seat belts & buckles, some other misc parts... thank god I got the interior dirt cheap, cause all the rest of the stuff to complete it is going to cost more than the interior itself :frown:

rich, your welcome to anything I have from the tan interior, although I can't see you needing much, a set of winter mats maybe? if you want the cargo cover back lmk too:wink: gotta find a black one now.

jordan, how did you even see my robot? he hid in the closet before you even made your way down there

I threw the interior in, or as much of it as I could get so far, still a few panels on order & still gotta do all the black suede, but it's more brick than not at this point

after 4 months I finally recieved my rims... the good thing is that they got it to exactly how I spec'd as far as sizing & offset. my measurements & everything were correct, the rear rims fit exactly like I wanted them to. slightly less than flush, recessed just a little, no rubbing or problems from my little test fit & drive of just one rear. this is 11" rim with 315/30-22 not sticking out at all or rubbing, perfect fit

but the things they got wrong...

I requested ALL black, including the whole inner barrel, the vendor yes'd me to death, but then they come raw aluminum on the inner barrel  a little pissed, cause I can't use them like this, gotta paint the insides now.

other issue is, even though I custom ordered & they assured me they would give me enough brake clearance, the front rims actually touch the calipers!!!!:mad: not bad enough to be unusable, the wheel rotates but shaves a thin line in the caliper right down to the aluminum. this can besolved with a little tweeking & refinishing the calipers, I woulda been way more pissed if I didn't wait for the wheels & already refinished the calipers though...

Looks sweet John as does the interior. But then again I'm partial to the brick,. What offsets did you order?

...and even though there is no cup holder...DD coffee is already there .

Everything looks great John, I'll stop by soon to see it in person .

looks nice as usual john! Passed by your car in person once when i was in a rush going somewhere and must say, looked very unique and amazing.

btw, where did your mirror covers go lol

Very nice John! Really good looking rims.. Btw, is it me or don't you think ,with the black wheels, black color and tinted windows, the silver roof rails stick out a bit?

"we're not worthy! we're not worthy!" to quote Wayne and Garth circa 1992.

but no really, that's some amazing shi'ite your can do. the rims are sweeet. I actually like the roof rails because it's a slight bit of silver to accent the rest of the ride. IMO, the cross bars could be removed and it may flow better.

Looks awesome as usual! I lol'd at "need to order the other 3 tires now."
I'm jealous of our floor jack and impact wrench.

hey Stu, i got a impact wrench with a digital readout that plugs into your cig lighter. it's pretty bad ass. Got it at Harbor Freight Tools. sure, it's some made in china POS but i mean what isn't these days? plus for 20 bucks, whatever.

doc the rears came out to 22x11 +48, fronts are 22x9.5 +32

...and even though there is no cup holder...DD coffee is already there .

haha, had to rig up a temporary cup holder:tongue: come buy whenever you can

... where did your mirror covers go lol

I started to cut my signals into the covers, haven't had time to finish them...

the black wheels def thow off the balance of the look of my fx, gotta play around in photoshop & see what changes I gotta make to get the balanced look back & have it fit the wheels visually better... maybe the rails black... I like & use the cross bars sometimes, rather keep them...

think I have to partially black out some of the chrome, def need a few changes to match these wheels & make them fit the look & get it all tied togeather again with the new wheel look, as it sits now it just doesn't look 100% right to me, needs something...

for some reason, i love the silver rail bars. even on rookie's ride, that's so tricked out of this world, the silver rail bars still work. no offense to the de-railers, and i used to be one of them, i just think the fx looks complete with the roof rails. ever see a fj cruiser or xterra without the roof rack? kinda the same thing, just doesn't flow. just my opinion.

How much torque does it put out?

up to 250 ft lbs. pretty sweet.
