turbocad's custom fx

Man... Something I am planing to do with my baby..

but how about an upgrade on the black window molding to Chrome...

this will bring it more together.. especiall with that +07 bottom door chrome trim..

Just a thought..

I have been thinking of that too, a few times I almost ordered them but things always came up first... always somewhere more important to put that extra grand I guess too maybe in the end I'll do them, but then I just redid all my moldings & trim gloss black & they look so nice too so ??? :embarrassed:

I am planing to get them painted since I have some other mods to get to.

Those wheels are HOT....

Forward me their info.. I want to look into some new wheels to go with my next couple of mods..

that offset is Sick...

WOW>.

the key to the staggered fitment for the awd is as much the tires as the wheels.

the tire setup I'm using is the yokohama advan st. it's the only good combo I've found for a awd staggered setup. your not going to be able to use them year round if it freezes by you though. this is the tire: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes...arch=false&fromCompare1=yes&partnum=13YR2ADST

sizes that work in this setup are the 315/30-22 rear & the 265/35-22 front, of this tire only in this tire, so it's the only option for this setup, but yeah, def worth copying this setup, it' the most extreme I've been able to come up with for the stock body & awd.

I went with an 11" rear wheel & a +48 offset. the front are 9.5" & a +32 offset. if you want a little stretched look you can go 11.5" rear 10" front, but I didn't want any stretch. if you want really flush with the body you can go with a little less offset, but that's when rubbing can be a problem.

the key is the right wheel specs & this set of tires... actual wheel design you can still choose from many different designs, & several different manufactures, but your def looking at custom order stuff & a few months wait, worth it to me....

I've been looking at pictures & playing in photoshop, but I think in the end I'm going to want to stay with the chrome all around for the most part. maybe I should have ordered with polished lips, but I want to keep my original 20's for winter wheels & have them match summer wheels to winter wheels, the 20" chrome rims need to be painted there all pitted already from all the salt... so I figured painted lip both 20's & 22's...

maybe I can polish the lips of these wheels still, maybe I'll do just the outer 1" lip but leave the black powdercoated inner lip, kinda have this look, this picture is what sold me on these wheels to begin with:

I'm not a fan of the murdered out look as its just dull to look at. I would have suggested to get the lips chromes or polished to tie in with your side chrome strip, door handles and rails. That would have done it perfect. But its not too late and you can change it if you really want to John.

Im not down with all blacked out either.....but if you do thats cool - just dont do no LV or Gucci.

hah, no louis vitton here, thank you very much, the most lv my fx ever will ever see is when my wife throws here cliche' bag in the pass footwell , I'd do all carbon fibered out even before I did that

might look cool if I spun them up & cut an aluminum stripe in the edge, like a ~ 1" band on the lip, then high polished the strip. the most important part of it visually is the outer lip shine, I can do without the mirror effect of the polished inner lip face. that may be the best comprimise. I may even be able t do my winter wheels to match cause the outer chrome lip is still fine, just the inner part near the joining of the 3 pieces is starting to pit, maybe I can grind the inners & save the outer inch or so there in chrome too, keep them matching

john, i can't wait to see these wheels in person. you better have some wheels locks on them or they're mine
I'm actually playing around in photochop during my computer classt o see fi i can come up with any ideas for you :-P

Turbo I think you can go either way, post 399 would look 10 times better if the tires were dressed up a bit. Unfortunately a black ride, with black wheels looks worse than any other ride if the tires are not looking good. Of course, just my opinion.

I've played & played & the best I'm coming up with to keep the wheels all black is this:

just blacking out the grille ties the wheels in nicely & doesn't clash with the chrome... I want to try chrome window moldings & maybe black handles with the chrome window moldings too...

post 399 the front wheel looks like a 24, I fixed it in this one... I think it looks better with the black grille with just the chrome buttons & black emblem...

figured out a way to see chrome window moldings... not working at all:

don't think I like that ^^^ with the black wheels,I think this one is the best one, if it don't look good done then I'll have no choice but to polish the lips, but I think i'm going to try this:

funny, now that I see them side by side, maybe the chrome window moldings don't look so bad either really, of course they'd look better than that chop too...

the last pic is the one I like.
(even more so because it is w/o the back brake calipers lol )

ha, I just copied the caliper & pasted a dupe above it for dual piston look:tongue:

woh, chrome window moldings & keeping the chrome grille looks good too I think:

that was my first gut too, but I don't know, too much chrome but black wheels is a pretty cool look too... either could work...

ok, so I think it's either this:

1

or this:

now I'm really confused, cause I think I'm liking the second one more & more... replacing the chrome I'm loosing with the chrome around the windows, keeping the same balance of chrome.... hard to look like too much chrome with black wheels...

Goodness John.. if you went with the second choice you will have to go with a chrome lip on the wheels...

the first pick is the best option in my opinion, but leave the infiniti logo chrome on the grill..
