turbocad's custom fx

the black wheels def thow off the balance of the look of my fx, gotta play around in photoshop & see what changes I gotta make to get the balanced look back & have it fit the wheels visually better... maybe the rails black... I like & use the cross bars sometimes, rather keep them...

Let's swap the rails :tongue::smile:

I'll keep you in mind for that if I go that way, but I have an idea in mind for black & silver 2 tone rails, we'll see...

cheese, these aren't HRE's, ther IForged, similar 3 piece billet. the main difference I find is that HRE is awesome in there finish & detail, where something like IForged gets a bit less in the final finish. for example, IForged polishes there face & there outer lip to perfect, but neglects the inner surfaces & the inner edges even of the face of the wheel... HRE's are more perfectly finished but you do pay dearly for it, IForged are more affordable, but less labor from them towards a perfect finish all over.

I originally was going to have IForged send me the raw wheel components for me to finish myself, then send back to them for assy. looking back on it I def should have done this, but I got lazy & figured if they did it all semigloss black it would be ok, unfortunatley they suck & did not finish the insides at all, I'm considering taking them apart & refinishing them the way I want to & get them perfect all over like a set of HRE's, not sure yet, might just black out the insides & call it done too... haven't thought too much about it yet..

that's the big difference between say a set of IForged compared to a set of HRE's or Asanti's or most other really high end wheels, they are the most expensive but you do get what you pay for in the details such as this... all things considered & for the price difference I'm not sorry that I went IForged, but I am sorry that I didn't do the finish work myself... the fact that they screwed up the front brake fitment doesn't help any either, again I can solve this, but when ordering a pretty expensive set of custom to my spec wheels, I shouldn't have to worry about fixing there mistakes...

damn John!! seems like i've missed a lot on the scene. Looks great man ... I have more time during the week now since I work weekends, maybe I'll stop in and hang out for a lil bit if you dont mind. Tell Soon I'll bring the coffee.

Someone did two tone black/silver rails on the org -- can't seem to find the thread. Anyone else remember seeing it?

been trying a few different combo's, but I think to keep the wheels completely black then the rest of the chrome has to go for the most part... not sure if I want to do that... here's what I'm coming up with so far as a quick chop ...

Looks good. I'm really liking those wheels. Like Bert said, a little contrast won't hurt. Maybe keeping the roof rails silver?

I love the wheels also.

if you do black out the rails, then emblems need to be black....

then it will start to fade to black

keep some contrast.

but you will make it look good either way

you can use the idea I had for my rails... a satin metallic black. it's still shiny, but not glossy, and doesn;t look completley black :)

I think it needs a little chrome as well and I think it'll be better if you keep the chrome on the mid or lower body. If you've had the 06+ doors with chrome strips, I'd say keep the handles and that. Looking at the all black picture, I think keeping the roof rails silver would look like you have handles to hold up and carry your FX over  Keeping the door handles chrome will give you some minimal chrome IMO and that'd be enough..

I agree with Edge, the lil chrome/silver the fx has it's alright on top it's the rails in the middle are the handle and at the bottom is the silver strip on the door..

Also John I look every where at infinitiparts website and I didn't see the chrome strip for the bottom of the door.. Do you have a part #? also.. Nice interior!!! Love it.. I wish I could find black carpet some where!!

yeah, I don't think I want to go with all blacked out, a little too dramatic maybe, I want to keep it a little subtle & classy, not necissarily just sick looking, don't want it to be too sick looking really.

I like it where the more you look the more you see, not so much screaming for attention at first site. might be hard to keep it very low key with those wheels but I'll figure something out. I picked those wheels cause there a bit plain & not so much blingy, but the all satin black is a bit of a statement that needs to be tied in somehow...

heres the look with the black wheels & everything else as-is.... needs something for sure... maybe just a changeup in the grille...

I'll get you part #'s for the moldings if I'm in the shop tommorow..

i really like the look with everything "as-is." Big change from your old rims... with your old rims installed it was more class & style, with these new rims... it kinda screams out race car
