turbocad's custom fx

I'm not sure what to do for lighting, I could do an 8k in the outer "low beam" & a 4.3k in the "high beam" inner. I could make it that I can switch beteen the 2 or activate both, & with or without the high beam shield of the bi-zenon activated... it also might look better being both the same... I guess I'll play with it for a while & decide what I like best. maybe a 3k in the inner one so it looks like stock yellow parking light... there are a lot of ways to go... I guess I gotta order a bunch of bulbs & see:smile:

I'm also doing custom fogs that are yellow, I like the yellow fog look, I'll do 3k hids there... I'm going to see if I can use a projector from the headlight in there too, then it could raise & lower with the headlights, then it would seem really complete to me:wub:

when there finished I got a few ideas for the tailights too, like nothing that's been done & I think it'll look sweet too:cool:

now I need at least 1 more set of ballasts w/ignitors, really I need 2 more sets with the fogs... anyone know of anything for sale anywhere?
 
do they fit the stock bottom hole of the headlight? I need them to fit like stock to seal the opening for them. I've got a bunch of non fitting ballasts laying around from misc other lexus, bmw's & stuff, but the way I built this it needs the stock fitment to be clean.
 
Yes... the set is made specifically for an 03 to 05 setting.. the only thing that I do get some moisture time to time on the passenger side.

Nothing a little silicone to water proof the issue..

I will be putting them back on this week...
 
ok, I just checked my stock room & I have a spare maxima headlight with the ballast & it looks the same, so I'm going to try to find a single OE on ebay for now, unless anyone knows of a single available anywhere?

when I do the fogs though I'll let you know to get me a set, thanks man... I didn't know the aftermarkets can fit the same:smile:
 
I absolutely love your work. Everything you've done so far is something I'd personally do to my own FX if I could.
 
those headlights look soooo sick! i took a look at them last night but i was so fvcked last night i didnt realize that you took out the DTRL and put another projector slot...i was looking at the picture just thinking WTF did he DO?! hahaha
 
I got no pictures, it was a last minute thing for me, I seen kennys post on g35nyc a few hours before the meet which was in the neighborhood of my shop. kenny came with a bunch of other cars. kennys g turbo sedan is really sweet... how do you get away with such a dark tinted windshield man? & no front plate? I'd get tickets every week parked on the streets of brooklyn like that :tongue:


my fx was really dirty & rolling on the temporary stock 03 wheels..., wasn't expecting a meet that night. it was also really cold:eek:


that yellow z twin turbo was sweet too, nice guy too, he's got a lot of work in that car. it was so friggin cold that night, couldn't hang out long, was nice to meet you though.:smile:
 
Turbo isnt fooling around here - mod after mod after mod..............:wink:
 
:laugh:I got so many more things I want to do to this fx, your right, it'll be mod after mod for a long time still, I'll keep building this thing for a good while before I'll stop & call it done I think.

after the headlights I want to build a custom grille & custom tails. then I want to button up all the loose ends, finish all the mods so far to perfection, & then start on performance stuff.

performance stuff is $$$, all of my mods so far have been crazy labor but not really huge $$$,

I'd love to add exhaust & vb, some type of FI, big brakes, etc. just how I do that is dependant on how deep $$$ I decide to go, it's real easy to dump another 15k into performance if it's all just sent out. gotta see where I go with that. doing it all myself would be cheaper but may take forever... I'd love to just drop it off & pick it up done a week later. all the mods I've done so far I did because I have no choice, theres no way to just send it out for that kind of stuff, but a performance shop is different, just drop it off with a list :smile:


past that there are even other things I'd like, like lowering it more, maybe a few body mods, then, theres the system... the system I got in mind is a major project all by itself, & that's another thing I just couldn't send out... a system would have to be done by me... I'll see when I decide to take the whole truck apart for the system, probably not for a while, maybe next winter.... I'd like to have everything else buttoned up & performance done by spring though


then theres the custom center console/ electric push button shifter/ media control center thingy that I want to build too... gotta see when I fit that in... not enough time in the day for everything I'd like to do:frown:


this is the equivelent of a modern day hot rod too me, I've been building everything I own for as long as I can remember, it's a disease really, don't know what it's called, but I've had it since I was a kid:smile: I've moddified all my cars really, some pretty radical, this fx is more subtle & refined type modding to me, as opposed to tilt noses & all out radical stuff & other crazier stuff I've done. trying to keep this one clean & simple & classy & refined.

yeah bro, I gotta admit, this system has made me love my fx all the more... & it came out pretty sweet, there are so many things I can do with the pc...
