Transgo Shift Kit Installation

Well all of you on IS have convinced me that this is one of the best bang for the buck Mods you can do ..... Pulled the trigger this morning and purchased the Transgo kit ...... will not be a DIY project :)

My next few upgrades after I get the MantaRay installed today will be:

1. Transgo Kit Installed
2. Uprev Tune
3. Custom Headers or Kido BBK

Also, I want all of you to know that my FInancial Advisor blames all of you for changing my retirement plans! :P

Lastly, thanks Andy for the GREAT write up!

Thanks. You'll love the shift with the kit installed. How much are shops around you charge for the install? If you been working around cars. You can do it and shift the installation money on other mods. BTW, I would suggest to get the custom headers in before UpRev tune. You'll get more benefit off the tune.

:smile (2): Get your financial advisor to get into an FX and he/she will be on the same boat with you.

 Not sure if it will make your car go one sixty swiftly, but its sure a heck more fun shifting through the gears and I can also make your wheel chirps.

It was a biggie song. But I think it was said by a female.

And yes it will

It was a biggie song indeed, and there was a female singer, but she only sang the chorus. (it was pamela long).

It was biggie who actually said the verse in question...

Yup guys it was. I think biggie at the time was referring to the top of the line S class. Transgo kit it is. Now I need à good installer.. :eek.:

No need to retune since you're not changing shift points. But you could have gotten similar results by just having them do it in Osiris since that can be tuned to increase line pressure. Same basic effect as the Transgo and if you're not boosted, close enough.

Some time ago, I was talking about Transgo with a knowledgeable and friendly mechanic at the Infiniti dealer. He had minimal experience with shift kits and suggested going into the ECU.
Has anyone here had real results with a pseudo shift kit via tune? Like specifically aiming for the same results?

The DIY write up is amazing, but I can't see myself doing this on my own the first time. Can anyone in the DMV area help me install the shift kit? You will be nicely compensated. :present:

You did all the mods on your ride right? I can't see why you can't do this. Shop will charge at least $800 for the installation. Spread the work over a weekend and take your time. Keep the "Measure twice and cut one" mentality in mind while doing it. You can get it done. I know you're dealing with an expensive piece, it maybe intimating if messes up, but really what's there to mess up if you follow the instructions.

Every time I read this thread, I say to myself "oh Yea. Gotta get this done" never do tho. Still have yet to drive a AT with a transgo.
