Transgo Shift Kit Installation

Pulled VDC fuse here. Put it back in as ASAP :)
"Fuse back in cuz it kills abs completely. Burnouts like mad. Didn't know TC really is quite active all the time. Newfound respect. Torque like I never imagined. VQ is really held back. I think the problem is the undersize tire DIA., 8%. A 45 is kind of a solution. I'm gonna attack yaw sensor bypass first cuz a 45 is way bigger than a 40. Not really my look."
Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out. I'm in the dirty south where we get water that falls from the sky! They call it rain. I know, it's nutz, but that's what happens here, quite frequently. I'm being a smart-ass. Lived in socal for many years. I miss those mountains. Ortega hwy from Lake Elsinore to San Juan Capistrano "where the beer flows like wine".
"Fuse back in cuz it kills abs completely." So the abs delete is your concern?
"Didn't know TC really is quite active all the time." Nor did I. TC rides the rear brakes & that's why I ditched it.

You referring to the diameter of your tires, TC deleted or both?
Got to find out if I lost abs. Will dump the clutch...damn, a/t. Will brake torque @ 2,500rpm next time I'm out & see what happens. AWD still there, she'll shit'n git as usual. Will wait for the next rainy day & launch @ 2,500rpm for the hell of it. Did this a month ago, spun front & rears for about 3 seconds before it hooked up. I want that on dry pavement.
Not too posting/thread savvy so if this is getting too far off topic, I'll stop. Anyone looking to get rid of some torque like gto, I'll take it:sneaky:!

Sorry. Slightly out
Of context. Problem was that I can't fully turn off traction control with vdc off. At the track and when driving in turn quickly,if I check up on brake, tc would kick in until I got to straight. I pull'd fuse, but car was undrivable. I'm blaming my issue on the undersize wheel diameter, although it's small. Fix is to bypass yaw sensor. Haven't gotten to it. It's only a problem on big fast sweepers on track and when I'm running near others and I need to check up. I just keep my distance at this point and remind myself that this is no race car. In canyons it behaves much better

Yes, no race car - race x-over! I've seen the yaw bypass done on g35 site via switch awhile back. Gotta test to make sure but brakes dust telling me vdc has pissed-off.
What's your tire size out of curiosity? Looking good.
Measured my diam. & used straight edge on top, tape measure from floor up to straight edge. Didn't consider sidewall gives on ground:rolleyes:. Called manufacturer-they have all specs-29.8, tire on wheel. Measured sidewall X 2 + wheel diameter & I got 29.8.

295 40 20
Tire Diameter And Circumference Calculator claims you're around 29.3" diameter. Over an inch smaller. Nice effect on your final drive & lost some weight where it counts most. I like it. When I switched, dropped diam. over 1/2" & shed about 4lbs off each tire. Noticeable for sure.
If you pulled vdc & did tires @ the same time, this might explain the newfound torque you spoke of. If not, more reason to hate vdc. Looks good on your fx. Found some tires that were at 29" & 29.2" & thought "that's gonna look odd". Guess not.
Big heavy wheels/tires on the fx can eat a fat one.

Saturday morning entertainment - shift kit relevant.
Been enjoying the difference. Barks in 2nd & it does chirp 3rd. Emailed John @ IPT - "did you do something extra? Most w/awd don't seem to chirp?" He said nope, hp/tq, tires, road surface, etc. all have an effect.
Barking on different roads around town so cannot blame the road surface. Anyway, raced a 6 cyl. late model camaro. Those things are pretty impressive, not like they used to be. It never had a chance. Driver was clueless, wheels spun @ the light & that was that.
I got a bad tendency of leaning forward when I haulass. This was 2 days ago. Yesterday, neck felt ever-so-slightly stiff when turning to left. Got progressively worse. This morning, stiff as a board. Woke me up twice. Felt like I got rear-ended. Nope, it's the bark from 2 days ago. That's freakin awesome :sneaky: (ouch) & pathetic !

Onthemove,

So IPT does have the kit but not diy for 2nd gen FX35? Im very interested. Do you gave a name and contact number for them?

Figured I'd make a minor correction for anyone who decides to install this shift kit. 2nd gear barks all day long but third gear, on a bolt-on n.a. awd fx35 MIGHT chirp. It's not consistent. If all conditions are right, a quick little chirp. Either way, very tame under normal driving, instant shifts through all gears @ wot & is definitely the most noticeable mod to date. Thanks again for the diy la_fx35!

Figured I'd add something else I noticed today. Had to reinstall the vdc relay for state inspection to get the lights off the dash. Haven't dealt with that just yet. Got on it in manual mode, barked 1st-2nd and just after the shift, it bogged. That never happened up until today. VDC has been deleted for awhile, long before the shift kit. VDC is just garbage.
