Hey Ray, yes I did the level10 VB upgrade. But I sent them MY VB and had them do the upgrade in 2 days and ship it back overnight. Still love the upgrade! not to mention the higher stall TC I had done at Edge Racing.

rookie is right F1FX had the Stillen VB upgrade and he seemed happy with it when he got it done. From my recollection I think he did say it had a bit softer shits than the level10. But rookies VB upgrade back than I believe was with SGP (rookie can correct me on this if I am wrong) and the hardest shifts of all, but he needed that for his FI application.

Using core swaps isn't really recommended. I put my built tranny and VB into a G35 and the thing would not respond to the throttle, put my tranny into another FX and it was fine.

Hey Doc...!! Was just about to pm you when i saw this reply. Read above......they didn't seem to be happy with Stillens work. That is why i am doubting. We had contact a while ago on the TC and internals......got the TC from edge racing as well and have the Level10 internals intock and ready to go. Was planning on sending Level10 my own VB but am doubting between sending them my VB for the upgrade or doing the Shift kit myself here.
I know a guy who has a new kit for sale here so can probably get it at a good price as well. But wanted the Level10 oilpump upgrade and their oilpan as well so might as well do the VB upgrade. But with international shipping and all it would cost me quite more so wanted to know if the upgrade would really be worth the cash compared to the shift kit..........did you ever compared yours with someone who just had the shift kit....??

I was thinking of the same thing when I read Dr's reply .:confused.:
Rookie stated that those had Stillen; none were very happy. :wink:
Curious to hear if Dr has any comparison inputs on the Level10 VB Upgrade and the Transgo Shift Kit.
 
Sorry Ray, but I have not had a chance to compare personally as no one here I know has the transgo kit. People seem to be happy with the transgo kit here so it maybe more cost effective for you just to go with the kit.

Would have been the easy choice to go with the Turbonetics turbo in stead of the GT35R as well.......but you know me a bit by now......as well as i know myself......i would always think to myself......what if :wub:

So new point on the agenda of the next Cali meet.......compare VB's :laugh:
 
Guys...jst picked up my FX today...Transgo kit installed!! 1st thoughts...what a difference. As everyone says...normal driving slight change. But took it on the 210 in LA and wow!! She now shifts thru the gears with ease....no lag like before. The car jst keeps pulling and I hit 90 before I knew it. After engine mods and exhaust...this is a must have. I didn't install myself even tho I wanted to try but I dont have a garage to do it..but still worth it for 800 all included. Next up...UpRev tune!!
 
I wanted to say that earlier when you post on the other thread about getting it install for $800 with the shift kit and fluid is a very fair price given your situation. Nice to hear another positive review on the kit. Come on everyone, get this install at once! :laugh:

Thx guys...lovin it so far!! Jst drove back from LAX in manual and this is where it really shines. Almost got pulled over...i was havin so much fun lol!!

The car drives how I always wanted it to...feels much more connected to the driver and is much sportier w/o being harsh on the shifts. Still has the feel of a luxury car but when pushed will respond.

I got it done at Remac Transmission in San Dimas...ask for Leo and tell him Damien sent you. Really cool guy...mine was the first FX they did but he's done a bunch of nissans...titans, xterras...so he knows our tranny very well. Have to thank Merchant for recommending the shop....now go get it done!!

THANKS! The shift kit is definitely on my list. I want to do the install myself, but we'll see how lazy I am when the time comes. I want that firm shift!

Hello Guys, Would the transgo shift kit be worth installing if u are already stillen supercharged(Stage 4)?

I would think firmer shifts are a benefit whether you are n/a or FI. Less likely to have a drop in boost between shifts as well.
