After reading these, Handy_Andy made this look so easy...:embarrassed:

Those are same documents that comes with the Transgo Kit. Mine was all filled/soaked up with ATF fluid. I should have save a copy at the start of the project. Too embarrass to scan them and post them up here. Glad you found them in pdf.

Hah, the shop returned my docs back after the install and they were also soaked in tranny fluid, obviously not a "clean" install procedure.........

Nice!!! I found this reply Hilarious from the Link you provided Ed. LMAO

No. It is not Dextron 3. Judging from the amount of work you have done on your car I assume you know something about 4 wheel Internal combustion transport vehicles. Dextron 3? You really think that the fluid that is made for a highly advanced 7 speed auto tranny can be the same fluid from your marvelous Ford Pinto? Do you run your 4 dollar a bottle vodka through a brita water filter 13 times before you drink it out of your winnie the pooh sippy cup? Because cheap vodka is just unfiltered expensive vodka? Please don't tell me your car is just a RWD luxury version of a nissan sentra rebadged in america as a G35. That would be too much. Oh and that 7 at the end of your name?
Yea its just a ploy to make the alphabet larger. Its really just a retarded upside down L.

infinitipartsusa.com has the cheapest Matic S fluid as a FYI that I could find.

$9.99 shipping and $2 handling, but $8.11 bottle.

You HAVE to search for INFINITI part. If you do NISSAN, it's like 70 cents more expensive!!! =)

Just under $100 for 10 bottles, but you only need 8. I think you can use this fluid for power steering too.

You should have been there when Chris, Slamming, and I were driving with Andy in his FX....

Slamming kept asking, wow you did this....Andy goes "YEAH IT WAS EASY"....slamming goes wow you did the trans shift kit...."YEAH THAT WAS EASY" we were like you did the spring installs yourself? andy is like "YEAH PIECE OF CAKE 1 HOUR YOU CAN DO YOURSELF VERY EASY".....wow you replaced your whole speedometer dash, how hard was that? "REALLY EASY JUST GOT ON EBAY INSTALL QUICK" towards the end I didn't think anything was easy anymore lol It was sooo funny...best weekend in awhile!:tup:

  Jonas, did I say that? the spring takes 1 HOUR? No way.

OK I probably exaggerated a little bit...but I think you said 1 hour somewhere...slamming will need to confirm....I remember he said it took him on his old camero I think it was like 1/2 a day to install and for you it was fast and he was thinking maybe FX springs are different....it was funny...you are definitely handy and I wish I lived right next to you! :) We are lucky to have you on the Scene!

Front springs need a spring compressor, which kind of sucks. Which is why coilover's for replacement are so cool, just plug and play.

Thanks for the good words, Jonas. Just having fun here and hope to help others when I can.

Yup, I will not be using my spring compressor next time I change out my suspension. coilovers is the way to go.

Think HA said 3 hours for the springs, and I thought that was rather speedy cause the ones on my (Camaro SS) took a half day. Asked what to expect cause I'm on that path of modding and Springs are on the list.

Whewww, that what I thought. :balanced:

As for the springs, Not sure if the H&R for the FX35 would work for the FX45 as they carry different H&R part#. The springs for FX45 has part # 53045 while the springs for FX35 is 53043. If you can find out the springs for the FX35 works for FX45, Andrew (AeroBFA) has a set ready to go. I change them out as he has coilovers now.

4 to 5, I think more like 4.

When you slide the upper and lower vb apart, making sure the separator plate is with the upper vb and flip them as one unit with the plate on top (like pic #11 on the Transgo installation thread). Whatever you do, like got your arms twisted/crossed, do let the separator plate come apart from the upper vb when you flip them. You don't want the balls/be be to fall out of the upper VB.

And when comes to drilling out holes in the separator plate, DOUBLE TRIPLE check before drilling.
Oh yeah, get a small jar of vaseline 100% pure petroleum jelly. It will helps with getting the three cone filters stay on the separator plate.

I had a follow up question and thought it better to put it here...

So in regard to the separator plate; Would you suggest removing the 52 bolts then immediately flipping the unit so that the upper VB is on the bottom and the lower VB can just be lifted off?

Great call on the Vaseline!

Ah, good call to move my earlier comments here.
The vaseline go to the original author on the G35 forum.

No, DO NOT flip the entire vb over after you removed the 52 bolts in thinking of prevent the plate will come apart from the upper vb. There are three cones filters and balls/ be be and springs (light weight) in the lower vb as well. It not too difficult to flip the upper vb with the separator plate as one unit. Just have to slide the separator plate with the upper vb far out enough so you have a GOOD grip of the two and flip them over together. Your arms will cross, so hold on to them tight an lay it down carefully. The plate is very rigid and with the fluid, it stick to the upper vb pretty tight.
