Toyo Proxes ST II

I also like the Kooks alot. They grip good when broken in. Super quiet & smooth riding. & they have a W rating for those spurts to Vegas

Thanks to all of you for your inputs. I've got a little over 19k on the OEM Goodyears and they are wearing quickly and tramline all over the road. Am certain that this car handles better than I'm seeing; certain that it is the tires.

Along those lines, I've been reviewing the feedback and have determined the Toyos are bad and the Hankooks and the Parada's are the best fit for the FX. Tire rack says the Paradas are excellent in snow; no feedback on their site for the Hankooks. Need good all-season tires here due to pretty harsh winters. I'm also looking for a fairly smooth ride. For smoothness, which is better the Hankook or Parada. Comfort and all-season capability are my two biggest factors for my tire purchase. Look forward to your feedback.

You have the best tires that you narrowed it down to, you can't go wrong with either. 1) what do you like better in terms of tread pattern? I like the V's of the Hankooks. 2) Which one can you get cheaper?

Throw those factors in and you will be ready to buy your tires.

Almost a year with the ST II's and they are still great, no noise, no shimmy/shakes/wobbles/vibration.. nothing. Big improvement from the first proxes.

I love my Proxes. I've gone the whole summer with these on, and no problems. In Montreal, it's law to have winter Tires by December 15 (expensive rule) so I have Blizzak's for the winter, and they are the best tires I have ever owned

I just replaced my Proxes ST's with Blizak snow tires and had to throw the Proxes away. Next spring I'll be looking for replacements. I just posted a thread about summers tires. So I'd be very interested in your verdict on these tires.

I know this thread is ancient, but how did the tires end up? I was seriously considering the Proxes, but now I'm leaning more toward the Hankooks or the Parada... Whichever is best for some snow as we do get some accumulation here unfortunately.

ISSUE: I have had my Toyos for about two weeks and I think I may return them. Town Fair Tire gives a 30 day trial period.

There is a very slight vibration, and when I say vibration, its not one that you feel through your steering wheel that could indicate a need for balancing/alignement/bent rim, etc. It is a very slight vibration that I can feel only through the throttle (gas pedal). Its very strange. At first I thought it was because the tires were so new that the deep tread was causing this, but I do not think this is the case. It is also causing a groaning noise when I feel the vibration, which mostly happens at speeds between 20-50mph.

Dont know what to do.... maybe I will try the Hankooks. I need something with good traction in the snow.

I know this is an old tread but I just got a Set of Toyo Proxies ST II. 285/40R22 on 2010 FX with 22 x 10.5 Forgestar F14 and I replaced some 2 week old Nitto 420s that where just to loud for me.
I am having the exact same issue as you regarding the vibration at some low mileage. The tires overall are quieter than the Nittos. I am might have them check the balancing to make sure thats not the issue
Wanted to see if anyone else had any feedback

I would say just go with Hankook's if you can - I was going to get the STII for my Benz but the sales rep strongly suggested the RHO6's and couldn't be more happy with them.

They don't sell the Hankooks in 285/40R22 or 285/35R22 which is what my 22x10.5 need
I am going to take the Proxies to get them re-balanced hope fully it was off.

Got them road force balanced and same results between 0 and 40 they are quite and very comfortable. from 40 to 60 they get noise and has a strange vibration in the brake pedal and gas pedal. You can almost hear and feel the vibration as if the car is dragging something.
Nonetheless the guy at Discount tire suggested bring them back and getting the Falken Zeix S/TZ05 instead.
