Toyo Proxes ST II

$600 for a set of 4? If that is, then what a great deal!! I paid my Ventus RH06 (set of 4) for 1K CAD in Vancouver and that was consider cheap already.

Wish I live in US ...

Why so small? I think I'll eventually get 275/45/20 on my stockers... $620 shipped :top:

I think they will look much better on a 20x8.5 plus I plan on cutting the springs a bit more....I don't want that funky extra sidewall bulge. Now, if anybody knows a way to adjust the speedometer for these tires... What tires did you have on your 20's before?

one thing I noticed is that sometimes the money you save with mailorder tires is good, but you wind up paying a lot more to mount & balance so it isn't always as good of a deal as you'd think... when you walk into a tire shop with your own tires they wil charge you more than they would if you bought the tires from them, they feel that they are making on the tires too so will charge you less to mount & balance tires bought from them. I've seen guys who will mount & balance there tires for $7-$8 each, where if there doing a tire you bring to them they'll charge like $20-$25 each...

I have a wholesale account from the tire rack, but when I bought from them & then got them mounted & balanced, as oposed to buying the tires from the same guy who would mount & balance the savings wasn't so significant anymore, I haven't ordered tires from the tire rack in years, not worth a tiny savings to have to carry the tires down to the tire shop & have them mounted, it does depend on the tires too, more expensive tires it may pay more, but for the most part buying them from a discount tire place & the difference isn't so great really from what I've seen...

my thoughts exactly....I've run into this on numerous accounts from small 15" wheels all the way up to the 20"+ wheels...I am not as fortunate as some to have a deep discount, or in some cases free, when it comes to mounting/balancing, so in the end, it was always cheaper for me to get everything from 1 shop done...its also hard to find shops that will even do the larger 20" wheels and if they do, they'll charge even more...

I imagine that is true but in my area, the selection is limited for tires and the prices are high, especially if they have to special order what you want/need. I have saved a lot of money by buying tires online and then paying $15-25/tire for mount and balance.

I paid $100 at Infiniti to mount and balance my tires. I think I had previously paid $80 at a shop that scraped the hell out of my wheels.

Similar here as well. They either won't carry the tire I need (22s for instance) or if they order it, it'll be expensive. Even with mounting and balancing it comes cheaper. The only difference is that you'll have to carry tires/wheels around.

I paid $200 to get mine mounted & balanced but then mine are 22s.

Try Infiniti dealership next time. I get charged $110, and that includes making sure the TPMS works (I have two sets). Nissan dealership charged me $105, but make me pay for a loaner. (I have 22's)

$200 to mount & balance, I woulda just left... I've seen guys mount & balance 4 tires for like $200-$250, INCLUDING the tires

the fact that there 22's don't mean all that much, either they have a machine to handle them or they don't. anything over $25 each they are robbing you, even that's high. don't belive the bs that 22's are harder or more work, again, BS

my local guys are all between $14 & $18 to mount balance your own tire... lets face it, you don't need a doctrine in tire theory or a degree to change tires... now a days all tire shops should be able to handle at least up to 22's but then again I would stand over the tire jockey like a hawk & if I see he's questionable in his methods I'd stop him right there, so many idiots mounting tires making like $250 a week, can't respect or even aknowledge how big a deal even a tiny mark is, but this is the same weather there charging you $14 or $50 each...

Infiniti dealerships around me can't mount 22s. Only one nissan dealership had the machine for it and they quoted the same price. The same place that mounted my 22s charges $100 for the 20 inchers. It might be much higher than what you guys pay but it's how it is for the shops close to me.

note: I asked about 6-7 good shops around my location and only two could mount 22s. Maybe a Boston thing?

All i know is that if the sidewall is thinner, it is harder to mount.
I bet if you go to your local sams club or costco and go to the back and slip them a $50 and they'll probably do it. then again, its a location thing.

10,000 miles on these tires now with minimum wear. They are as quiet as when new. Still impressed with traction and hydroplaning resistance, particularly compared to the RSAs.
