The Random Question Thread

@RRDorcel might be able to hook you up with part numbers

The triangle-shaped covers are for the front wiper/misters that are required on Euro cars.

Thanks I figured that's what they had to be I've just never saw them in action or even exposed. I doubt the US versions are wired for them nor signals but it could be a fun project.

These fasteners...... Is there an official name for them?
Can I get a bunch for cheap? Like a box of 100 for $1 on eBay? (not literally, but what are our options?)

Has anyone here replaced their outer or inner tie rods? I'm wondering what the symptoms were..
cause on the highway, my car felt like it would sway during randomly at times.. lanes changes, especially.

It was as if there were crosswinds coming from nowhere

I had a 90's Ford Escort that would do that, sloppy steering, ended up being the tie rods. Sounds like the same symptoms.

Check'em

Looks like it could be based on the code being different. Did you have it done? Says completed

I haven't been to dealer in a few months. They said they would notify when parts came in. I will call today

Quick question I have so I been lookin at a set of rims and some website say the rims font work with my FX others say they do. However one website shows them as staggered set. How good are staggered sets, I was reading and some places say that awd vehicles are not meant for staggered wheels others say that it's ok. I'm freaking confused with this.

You can run staggered as long as the rolling diameter of the tires is the same. It is preferable to run the same all around so you may rotate tires from front to back.

Hey Nnaji! Did you tackle the project yourself? I had both tie rods replaced already over the course of the last 2 years. The last I did was caused by the inner tie rod boot is ripped. I guess these are part of our vehicles getting older.
