The Random Question Thread

Looking to buy a new jack and jack stands... wondering if anybody has a suggestion on which are good or which they like?? Thanks for any suggestions....

I've used the 3 ton Arcan aluminum floor jack for more than 3 years now. No issues and maintenance free. I like it because it is lightweight and does not rust. I also used Arcan aluminum jack stands. Currently on sale at Northern Tools: Arcan Professional-Quality Aluminum Quick Rise Low-Profile Service Jack — 3-Ton Lift Capacity, 3 3/4in.–18 1/8in. Lift Range, Model# ALJ3T | Floor Jacks| Northern Tool + Equipment

Hey Nnaji! Did you tackle the project yourself? I had both tie rods replaced already over the course of the last 2 years. The last I did was caused by the inner tie rod boot is ripped. I guess these are part of our vehicles getting older.
I did the outers on my own, but had the shop do the inner because I couldn't get it off for the life of me

Turns out my left ballast is out and when I go to search the part on infinitipartsusa... It's $450, but when I search on ebay is about 50... Does this sound right? Or am I looking at the wrong part number lol

Are you referring to HID ballast? If so, Morimoto is selling HID ballast at a very competitive price point.

I've bumped into this product. Engine oil drain plug with valve.

Anybody heard about this product or used this?

Yeah, I had it on my FX35. It drain VEEEERRRRRY SLOOOOOOOW :) Other then that, it been good. No leaks! My BIL still has it on the FX35

Does drain slower, but helps if you do the oil change after driving the car some.. Only talking about 5 min more, so just enough to time to polish up a beer. I like it, no mess.

My front passenger side wheel bearing is shot. Dealer quoted me $675. For those of you who had this done by a shop or the dealership, how much did they charge you for it?

Dealer wanted to charge me 699, I'm simply said no way.... with how easy it is to do I would think more in the 300-400 range max...

Thanks bro. I looked at videos on youtube of people actually doing it themselves. I am not that confident that I could take on the project. I'd be brave next time around and try working on it myself.

Hey it's not hard too do at all. It's pretty straight forward... if u get brave enuf to attempt it lol then I'd be willing to help u out as much as I could.. I'd give my number and u could text or call as much as u need that's wat we are here for not???

^thanks Americanguy.

Nope. I wished. The stealership did it for me. Just picked her up this afternoon. They also fixed the e-brake. Thumping sound is gone.
