I just got my Leatherique today. Since you can use it on vinyl, do you guys think it would work on that vinyl-like padded material on the dash top on the first gen?

Yup you can use it on that no problem at all. It's actually not only made for leather. You can also you it on vinyl, rubber and plastic. Alot of people on the detailing forums I've even seen them use the Leatherique Prestine clean stuff on the rubber door seals too. I use it on my door seals too and it keeps them nice and soft. I also use the Prestine clean on my dash, steering wheel, and shift knob. If your going to use it on the dash just use the Prestine clean. The rejuvinator oil is more suited towards the seats.

Yes, using just the cleaner on those parts makes sense. Cool, great review, I look forward to using this!

Did you ever figure out the deal with that one area by your dash peeling and/or get it replaced by the dealer? I'm worried it's because you use all sorts of products that maybe clean too much. I use a product called Meguiars interior cleaner and it cleans/smells good but they don't use any chemicals or anything strong that could potentially cause problems.

Oh that wasn't my dash peeling. That was that plastic piece that surrounds the cluster. I'm actually not the one that made that chip. The previous owner I believe did it because when I picked up the car it was already like that. And it didn't happen to anyone else with a 2nd gen so I'd assume it was the previous owners fault. I never use any strong chemical to clean the interior. Anytime I try a new product I always test it on a small area first.

Forgot to mention I had that changed. I was told the piece was only like $40.

Previous owner? I thought you bought the car brand new?

I thought you bought yours new also. News to me. How many miles were on it when you bought it?

Sent from my DROID RAZR

20K miles. It was practically brand new when I got it. Hence why in my other thread I said its MSRP is $58K but I didn't pay that ;). It was built in March 2009 and I assume the owner got it a few months later then I purchased it in March 2010. So he probably had it for like 8 or 9 months. I also found out the previous owner of my FX worked for Infiniti. Atleast that was what I was told when I went into the service department for the first time. The guy was looking through the previous service records on the computer and he said some executive from Infiniti owned it.

Why weren't you impressed? Seems pretty legit. I better like it, I bought two huge bottles, so I can share this stuff with others too, LOL.

Like I said earlier it's not a miracle product. But it's definately better than other leather cleaning products on the market. Alot of leather products out there don't actually go into the pores of the leather like leatherique does. Instead they sit on top of the leather and make it look oily and shitty. Leather in no way is it suppose to look oily. That is not the "new look". Leather is suppose to be dry and dull from the factory.

I'd still stick with Zaino; I only heard of Leathertique from this thread and it doesn't look like anything was really done after it's applied.

Leatherique is all over the detailing forums lol. Next time check out Autogeek or Autopia.org etc etc. So many write ups and results....

Just did this treatment last week (hence why you don't see my new shift knob in the picture lol). Look how clean and prestine it keeps my seats looking. Better than new with no wrinkles!!! Infiniti leather is only shitty if you don't take care of it from day 1. You can argue with me all you want, but I have yet to own a car that doesn't get wrinkles or wear on the seats.

Perfect at 42K miles!

I do use mats lol I just took them out to vacuum.

I'm surprised you did this during the winter since it works best in extreme heat preferable > 90 degrees and overnight to pull the dirt out.

did you have wrinkles and it came out when you did it or what did you notice this last time that made you think it needed it and now it's better? Do you have before and after pictures?

I know the bucket is dirty and was shocked from that, but didn't really notice any appearance changes in the actual seats.

No before and after pictures :(

I actually have no wrinkles in my leather. Maybe just 2-3 wrinkles which is normal for any kind of leather. I abuse the leather actually haha. When I get out I slide over the top of the bolster and still the seats hold up 100% as long as I keep them treated. I just noticed the seats were starting to look very oily and they shouldn't so I used the Prestine clean this time and a good leather brush.
