update:
Ok it has been a while....had a lot of pointers to get rid off. As i mentioned before what started out as a engine project quickly became a fully paint project (and more ) as well. So lot of things to take care of.
So where am i now. Got a base tune and am breaking it in right now. It is not a daily driver for me and have been on holiday and busy so am half way right now on that. revs are limited to 5500 but i am told better not to override the 3500 revs for now. Boost pressure is at 0.6 Bar ( aproxx 9 Psi ).
Car runs great, engine sounds a bit rough, i think i was better of not going for the Heavier cam springs. This really stresses my timing chain out and it's tensioners. Especially when i start the engine cold.
But then again i gues with a complete build engine it would not run so smooth as a stock engine anyways.
One mayor setback is that my rear seal wasn't mounted right ( my own doing ) and the tensioner spring in it popped out and damaged my cranck. We put a new seal in it but without any luck and i have a oil leak just behind that seal wich spills oil in the bell housing of my tranny.
i Can drive with it for now but at one point the cranck needs to come out and taken care of.......weld or just put another one in.
I'm now tackling the P0102 code wich says MAF or TB so working on that.
The bodywork is 98% done....fitted the side skirts last week and am waiting for some clamps of the lower door moldings.
Also had some issues with the oil temp being to high for my tuners liking. It was located a little bit to much behind the bumper so we made some air scoops to guide the air towards the oilcooler. These B&M oilcoolers have a build in thermostate and their on SPAL fan if they become to warm.
Problem was that the oilcooler was directly in front of my inner wheelwel and therefore couldn't breath through very well.
My buddy who works at a painter repairs infiniti's as well and got a FX50 inner wel for me with air fins in them, cut them out and plastic welded them into my new wheel wel.
The interior pic shows the only gauge i have ( Wideband ) mounted into a Perrin Performance pod, left to it is one of the 2.5" LCD screem i use and has all the data on it from the HKS Camp 2 system and below the Blitz Throtthle Controller.....pitty that is the only thing with a green light so might have to change that in time.....still have plenty of LED's lying around here :smile (2):
Times for some pics:
