onthemove MOD's

I'll see my home wifi come up all day long but this radio is so pathetic it just can't muster the will to make the connection. Iphones right here, a foot away from the radio and nothing, no connection.

The android unit is finally working with the iphone. Forget about a direct connection. I've read and did some research and these things are not uncommon. I was going to try a wireless usb adapter to attempt a stronger connection but I figured it out. The wifi antenna was getting interference, from what I do not know, but I relocated the gps antenna to the driver side under the dash up high and brought the wifi antenna down into the clock area. I loosened up it's cord as well. Start the FX, log into the phone, toggle the hot spot on the phone back and forth once or twice and viola, the android tablet has a quick reliable internet connection. Carplay blows and with this, there's no need for it anyway. I put the phone in the console and it's all tablet from there. The camera is for another day and the rcs that's attached to the same plug these 2 peculiar blue wires are might be for the camera? Who knows. Kirinavi certainly does not.

I finally get the iphone to show up on the radios wifi, give the password and then nothing. I see it under saved networks but who cares, connect God damn it, connect! This is such a finicky pos.

Make sure Date and Time on the head unit matches your Iphone. Reboot/Restart head Unit and make sure Date and Time matches your Iphone.

I actually like what you have versus the other types of dashboard solutions, especially because it doesn't have anything in front of the passenger airbag. My affected areas are only on the top surface and would benefit from something like that.

Do you recall which brand of Dashboard cover that is? It looks like the "Covercraft Ltd. Edition® Custom Dash Cover."
Yes, that sounds familiar. Problem is that now I’m getting cracks running vertically across the passenger side airbag area. I’m still waiting on an interior shop to let me in.

Installed larger wheel spacers. Went from 20 to 30 in the rear and 25 to 35 up front. No pics of the FX, but I likes it. Some ebay super-cheap shits.

No new pics. Below is before. Now they're right on the edge.

I’m so jealous. I want spacers and a drop now. In the meantime, I upgraded my analog clock. What do you guys think. It matches the KiriNavi better. I’m loving it hahaha.

The clock is cool.
No reason to be jealous. Spacers and drop springs are just a few hundred bucks, especially the ebay super-cheap shits. :) Certainly a lot less than the android head unit.

Hello, I like this watch.
Could you put a link to know where it could be obtained?
Thank you!
Hi,
This is a M45/35 analog clock. The 08-10 models have the purple color. The previous model use the amber/ yellow color on the 06-08 fx. You need to get a clock with a pigtail (connector included). All the Infiniti analog clocks have the wires labeled on the housing( L+L- +-), then you just cut the wires and connect to the pigtail wires accordingly. You will be glad you did this upgrade. Then buy a piece of black leather and cut a smaller perimeter of the oval shape of the clock. Once you pass the oval shape of the clock thru the oval cutout on the leather peel the leather back to have that clean look. Then it is all about keeping the clock centered and in place. I got mine from eBay, just make sure the connector or pigtail is included because the connector on the 03-05 FX is too big and won’t plug into the new clock.

do you have a link to the spacers on eBay or roughly how much you paid?
And iirc you have H&R drop springs right? How many inches lower did they end up after settling? my wife keeps complaining about how bumpy the ride is in the back so considering getting H and R springs and new shocks while I’m at it. This should make the ride better right?

Here's the fronts 30MM Hubcentric Wheel Adapters For Infiniti Q50 Q60 Q70 5x114 66.1 12x1.25 | eBay
and the rears 35MM Hubcentric Wheel Adapters For Infiniti Q50 Q60 Q70 5x114 66.1 12x1.25 | eBay
30mm front and 35mm in the back but these sizes may not be good for you. My old spacers were h&r and 20/25. I don't have pics of how it looks since the new ones yet. FX is in the interior shop.
Yeah, h&r springs will lower it an inch plus in the rear and a bit more up front. They will level out the FX. Mine is 2" lower but that includes a smaller diameter tire. New shocks and struts will revive the ride. Springs won't make it any worse but I hear coil overs tend to.

Do you get any steering wheel shake and vibration past 60mph with those wheel spacers?
It seems like all the 1st gen FX'es are prone to that shake even without spacers and that makes me hesitant on putting spacers on, however, every time i look at my FX45, it reminds me of a 90's camry with those sunk in the fenders rims - I hate it !

Steering wheel shake could come from spacers that aren't hub centric. No issues for me though with the h&r's or these cheap ebay shits.

This shop is a little slow but very high quality. The FX has been here for nearly 3 weeks so far. Things are starting to move along now.
100% leather replacement on the front seats, delete dash speakers/grills & re-wrapping the dash with marine vinyl. The materials match nearly perfectly. They're making a shifter boot & wrapping the knob in black leather and painting the android radio's faceplate to match the dash.

I asked him to make the passenger seat padding a little thicker than stock and to stitch another seam in both sections on both seats. No Infiniti emblem any more. He asked if I wanted them but I don't. The seat is so close to original but just looks a little cleaner imo. The foam on the dash is good to go. there will be a few seams in it which should look pretty cool. It'll be a little cleaner without the speaker grills. He's gonna do the knob and boot thread in black and this stone color to see which looks better. Probably black. Should be complete by next week. Wondering what the damage will be for the dash work and if I should delete the air bag.

9 weeks and $3k later, it's done.
Dash speakers are gone and so are the cracks. I think he said he stitched 28 pieces together? Damn.
He painted the tablet trim plate to match the dash.
I like the way the boot turned out. The first time around it was too tight.
He didn't fill the center of the knob before he wrapped it but my thumb tends to just naturally rest there which I like so I think it'll work out.
I've got to do a little smoothing and messaging with my heat gun, especially on the dash in areas like the bottom right corner below the tablet trim plate where the stitching didn't quite line up like it did on the bottom left side. The added stitch on the seat back and bottom was something Infiniti should've done imo.
The entire front seats, shift knob and boot are leather and the dash is marine vinyl. Apparently leather is not the way to go on the dash.
I'm very pleased with the outcome and this weekend I've got to delete both air bags, try to get the camera installed and clean the beast up. It's good to have it back. Maybe I'll get a break and get some cold weather soon so I can head to the coast to get my goddamn 14 second timeslip.
