No offense but dropped fx's look corny

I don't even get the whole point of this debate. he who wishes to remain stock, can remain stock. that's simple, & that's fine. no ones pointing & laughing or saying it looks "corny" or anything. you don't like lowered or altered... you should be fine stock,

but your not fine, instead you gotta point fingers at the lowered & custom wheels & call them names, insisting there corny looking & yada yada:laugh:.... ok, you don't like it, we get it. so uhm, I think maybe you should just stay stock:tup:. problem solved, end of debate... so what is the problem? what is the point? what are you trying to say? what exactly is the point of this thread??

one thing I've learned in life is that... I'd say 80-90% of the time when people start anything with "No offense...."... They are trying to start something

my opinion, we should have more carmen electra pics on this thread:tongue (2):. (how about when she tried the sybian?)

Or as Jim Rome would say, "when someone starts a sentence with 'no offense but' someone is about to be offended".

Thats not as bad as when it starts off with "To tell you the truth..."

I can't wait till I can make my FX corny.

...

Since it appears the only remaining value in this thread is funny human behavior anecdotes...

One of my FB friends recently wrote: "If the IT guy at works begins his sentence with "To be honest with you", does that mean he usually lies to me in conversation?"

Or as Jim Rome would say, "when someone starts a sentence with 'no offense but' someone is about to be offended".
Here's one from my boy Plato that can sum this up (no offense op)
"Wise men speak because they have something to say, fools speak because they have to say something"

Or as Jim Rome would say, "when someone starts a sentence with 'no offense but' someone is about to be offended".

Not really.

Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones.

Proverbs 12:18 There exists the one speaking thoughtlessy as with the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise ones is a healing....

Ecclesiastes 7:21,22 Also, do not give your heart to all the words that people may speak, that you may not hear your servant calling down eveil upon you. For your own heart well knows even many times that you, even you, have called down evil upon others.

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Me too. Especially the 2011 Ford Edge Sport with the 22s. :eek.: Looks really good!

With the eight year age gap between the 1G FX and the 2G Edge, its pretty amazing how well the FX looks still compared to the latest competition. Especially FX's that are lowered with 22s.

I actually like the Q5/Q7 and Ford Edge... but I tend to be a lot more open minded

I drove an '11 Edge a few months back. I was pretty impressed with it all around. It needed bigger wheels since I drove the SEL version, but aside from that it surprised me how much I liked it.

The FX's design has aged really well unlike most mass produced cars out there.

This thread is less of a debate and more of a discussion, originating with a member's opinion. It is hard not to be defensive when somebody attacks things with which you identify. Totally agree with Turbocad's post. To the OP, what is the point of this thread and starting the discussion? Based on the members and all the threads, you knew you would hit opposition, no doubt. Are you truly just curious?

There are two classes of people on this site. Those who mod and those who maintain. We have the occasional person looking to buy, or will be getting one soon (sup jcas) but I would say out of those who modify and personalize the car, the overwhelming majority likes the lowered look of the FX. Sheep flocking together? Fine - but it's not going with the herd. The FX community is small to begin with, then we who modify are yet an even smaller fraction. Hard to say we're just following a "popular" trend. We're doing what we like for our own reasons. Each member has their own preferences and motivations. That's about the best answer you are going to get.

As to everybody else - the OP did have a good post with the quoted passages. We all tend to get defensive and offended WAY to easily in my opinion. There's really no place for anybody to flame another in that person's thread, unless they are asking for opinions. Yeah, the original post was a little inflammatory, but the great thing about this form is you can wait before posting. Cool off. Present yourself with class and make the OP think about the question from different perspectives. Thank-you, TChuck.

Both sides have good points and arguments. In the end it comes down to opinion like Turbocad said. You like the stock look and the wheel gap? Keep it. Just try to love your brother and accept him for who he is... style and all. We accept you and your FX.

Correction, this quote came from Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Ezekiel copied it. :wink (2):
