This thread is less of a debate and more of a discussion, originating with a member's opinion. It is hard not to be defensive when somebody attacks things with which you identify. Totally agree with Turbocad's post. To the OP, what is the point of this thread and starting the discussion? Based on the members and all the threads, you knew you would hit opposition, no doubt. Are you truly just curious?
There are two classes of people on this site. Those who mod and those who maintain. We have the occasional person looking to buy, or will be getting one soon (sup jcas) but I would say out of those who modify and personalize the car, the overwhelming majority likes the lowered look of the FX. Sheep flocking together? Fine - but it's not going with the herd. The FX community is small to begin with, then we who modify are yet an even smaller fraction. Hard to say we're just following a "popular" trend. We're doing what we like for our own reasons. Each member has their own preferences and motivations. That's about the best answer you are going to get.
As to everybody else - the OP did have a good post with the quoted passages. We all tend to get defensive and offended WAY to easily in my opinion. There's really no place for anybody to flame another in that person's thread, unless they are asking for opinions. Yeah, the original post was a little inflammatory, but the great thing about this form is you can wait before posting. Cool off. Present yourself with class and make the OP think about the question from different perspectives. Thank-you, TChuck.
Both sides have good points and arguments. In the end it comes down to opinion like Turbocad said. You like the stock look and the wheel gap? Keep it. Just try to love your brother and accept him for who he is... style and all. We accept you and your FX.
