Move over JLC! I got my own crees!

will the towers work as blinker lights after the swap? is it compatible since i hear leds dont work for signal lights without a resister ?

No they cannot use as blinkers. I have tested them.

That's because the white LEDs run on two circuits, just like regular DRL bulbs. The amber ones will be single circuit. Blinkers are 7440 and drls are 7443. It's true that unless u want your blinkers to go 2x as fast you would need an inline resistor. I can get those as well for those that want the amber led blinker towers.

if we do the dtrl swap, wont the oem bulb be not bright enough to show in the signal light area? a nice really bright led or cree with a inline resister would be a sweet mod :P

That's exactly where you will use thes bulbs if you do the swap. In the turn signal location. They'll give off as looking like you have dual headlights

thats what i want :). but i would also want my signal light to be visible for oncoming traffic thats why im recommending we should find a bulb that works as a signal light and is BRIGHT to be seen with the swap.

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA the last little while. Thing is, I resigned at my day job last week - just trying to get a couple of things in order before the GB. It's still happening though!

I think these bulbs aren't so great either. I think I've identified why they are doing this and I'm working on something soon that could work out with the Crees, but will be much more extensive.

Hi there!

Just for your info: black ones that you call "cree's" are not based on real Cree Q5 chip. It's much less powerfull chip and I doubt it's Cree.
That chip produces poor blewish light that can not be compared to Q5 with gives 400 lumen. That's why it doesn't produce heat.
I suppose it can't compete even with the "corn style" bulbs.

The bulbs that Arturius have do the same thing, they burn out or become very dim. I've been running Cree bulbs in my car the last week ever since I modded my headlights, using a totally different approach and setup. So far so good, but it's only been a few hours of actual run time. I'll be updating my testing in a few weeks. But all I have to say is it looks fantastic with the TSX-R clear lens swap.

I'm very curious of your new set up! After you test it out for more I might jump in and do the same thing. On that note I am a little scared to open up the housings so I haven't really thought about doing the clear lens swap..Is there a noticeable difference between OEM and TSX-R lenses? Is there a thread for your new set up?
