gto's FX :: 2005 FX 35 RWD SPRT

45 also looked a bit meaty to me. These are pretty huge as is. Likely look smaller when mounted up. Working on it now

I got a bit jacked. Great price going in and then manager says not written up correctly. Charged me xtra for tpms rebuild, not even sure I needed to do that. Hope the sensors work. Gtr sensors should reprogram no problem??
I should have taken out the ones off my other wheels since it was a match already. Oh well

Man you got D*****! Not sure what he meant by "tpms rebuild?" I just swapped out the tpms on my stocks when I put on my GTRS! How much did you end up paying?

Wasn't too bad. They got me for 50 install (that's a jack), then like 8 for each rebuild kit.
Problem is, now I have to pay to reprogram. My originals are on my old wheels.

I would have, but I didn't have all the wheels with me. Decided to just go with the full gtr set. Either way, they wanted the 50 to put them in the rim. Not losing sleep over it, nor the rebuild stuff, just hoping the reprogram will go with ease

And when I mentioned the price , I meant 50 for the TPM S install + 32 for the kits. Total OTD was 175 + tip to Leo for no scratches :)
Not horrible, I just don't like surprises when quoted 90 at start. Manager 1st said it was going to be around 300 for TPM S (I was already on rack, no wheels) But he said he would look for a better code, which he did. it was a sales job. He was probably thinking I might go for the higher number, but I said hell no right away

Includes lifetime balancing, and as a bonus free tire pressure inspection :/

TPMS rebuild is usually totally unnecessary, especially in SoCal. Maybe if you were up north and there were corrosion issues. The $50 install is just profit since your tires were off anyways. But just about every shop will break out the TPMS even though it's literally no extra work if the tires are off.

GTR sensors should reprogram since the part numbers show as compatible with the FX.

Can't wait to see completed pics of the FX. As for the rebuild, i've only had that done recently when one of my sensors developed a slow leak. The grommet and nut had to be replaced.

Totally agree. I could have argued it. Hate getting cornered. Live and learn. I won't be going back there . . . Unless I need a free pressure inspection, doh

Don't worry about the rebuild thing so much, it is something that is recommended actually, if you remove them the seal gets broken and there is the possibility on re-installation that they leak, which is a much bigger hassle to cure afterwards then it is to just rebuild them up-front.

So you didn't get jacked, it was probably just unnecessarily cautious behaviour by the tire place.

As for the re-program, why didn't they do that for you? Even when I just got my tires mounted at tire rack they programmed the TPMS for me.

I will call corporate and find out, thx. Maybe I will go back, but there's likely a fee for that :/
Here are some crappy phone pics. Looks off-road ready it's so high . Akebonos look killer in there. I like

Looks great with the GT-R's if I don't give the fx to my wife I might get a set myself. I removed the tpms sensors on both of my cars and on hers as well all they did was annoy the crap out of me when ever the tire pressure went low a little bit. Now I just check the tire pressure once a month with a digital tire pressure gauge.
