gto's FX :: 2005 FX 35 RWD SPRT

What I did was order the rebuild kit from autozone for $5each and put them on myself using a deep socket and torque wrench set to 66in-lbs. My local places wanted $100 for installation and the kits

nice! what lugs do u got? looks like they r all locks
No, single lock on each, stock nuts. but I think these are getting replaced

Nice Dave and you said you stopped modding?
haha, guess not. I'm so slow at getting around to things

& I guess I'm the guinea pig on these tires. Never seen them run by anyone. Cant comment at all except they balanced easily. Also very smooth, but it always feels that way on a new tire. I plan to break them in a bit on an early New Years day run with the crew. Get all the mold release off, etc.
Got a chance to take a few more shots with a better camera before the rain. but a bit dirty

That's an awesome shot.

Those tires look sweet. Really meaty, and aggressive.

Gonna be great once all sorted. Shout out to shadow and stu for help along the way

Sweet, meaty and aggressive......That's exactly what I think when I see Dave's ride. FX looks good man, notice any difference with the reduced wheel/rubber diameter or weight?

Updates on your new rubber as it wears? I'd like to upgrade the tires on my GTR rims.

Sweet. Silver Surfer has been my goal, & that's the look I've wanted
Falkens are really good so far. I only have about 300 miles on them, & havnt seen much aggressive driving yet . . so the review is limited. I'm waiting to get the BC's on before I really go hard . . and I will :)
So far:
Very good road feel, although at times really wish this was just a hydraulic system. The Steering has gone almost too light for my taste. That's great for leisurely cruising, but I do wish it were more weighted.
I can totally feel the difference in the weight of these rims. The tire is wider, but the feel is much lighter. Diameter/size look & feel right, & VDC has not been intrusive at all. They are also very quiet for a performance tire, but we'll have to see if that keeps. They seem very well made, & balanced very easily at the shop.
These also hook up very well & feel planted. Good throttle control & you can feather in the power. My all seasons would fishtail if I got on hard and these grip much better.
Wet weather performance is awesome. They aced this.

I heard these wear fairly quick, & I'm OK with that.
I'll have more for you once I get dialed in & more comfortable with their limits.

Further update on the Falkens.
While I'm still on the Eibachs, I did a Canyon run this past weekend. I was able to run much faster and at confidence. I didn't want to push it very hard since I'm getting used to the new drive, so I stayed well within limits. At similar or greater speeds then before, I felt no sense of sliding or scrubbing off speed as with the Hankooks. These are better in the dry and wet all around. The RH06 was a good and dependable tire, but by a performance comparison I have to say, they kinda suck.
But they were all-season. so as can be expected, they were good at everything, great at nothing

I'd totally agree with this, the kooks are a great compromise tire.

As the saying goes: "Jack of all trades, master of none."

Good to know. I had Falken tires before and they were horrible in wet conditions.

Let us know how yours will behave in wet conditions.

I read That was one of the areas that they worked on for the 453 versus the 452. I mean look at the size of the grooves in this tread!
In my brief driving on these in the rain, they grip so well it almost feels dry
