Any Bike Riders Out There?

I wouldn't mind doing the little cleanings and adjustments... But I don't know how to put a bike together and tune it.. Which means I would need to bring it to a shop.. Not too sure how that conversation with he bike guys would go re a copy bike.

Dude, its a breeze. If you can change a set of brake pads you can assemble and tune a bike.

I don't wear tight clothes. Usually my MTB shorts for the butt padding and a t shirt or my short sleeve loose jersey. I can't bring myself to spend money for road bike clothes.

What does the extended rim do exactly? I don't know how else to describe it but the extra part before the spokes.

The aero rims provide a more aerodymanic rim at higher speeds. They are generally also stiffer. So, the disadvantages are a little more weight and they are less stable in high crosswinds.

So, you guys that ride roadbikes....you all wear the jerseys to match the bike?

I do wear lyrca shorts and a relatively tight jersey, but it's my team kit which doesn't match the bike in anyway. :)

I could never get into road riding I started at as a young kid with bmx and went into mountain bike trail riding, I like it to be extreme when I ride. :good:

Oh man Stu.. if you wear baggy shorts and regular t-shirts when you ride a road bike, you will feel the winddrag on your body when you are going 15mph+. And it slows you down and take quite a lot of energy over a 2-3 hour ride. If you ever switch to road attire, you will notice the difference and will never go back to baggy shorts and tshirts.

for MTB, i wear baggy shirts and a tshirt though.

That's what I'm going for haha.

I was riding yesterday in the hills right by lake I ride around. I ended up down on the road and rustled a few jimmies when the road bikers saw my big bike.
