Any Bike Riders Out There?

Hey guys, im looking for a light road bike for commute and a little rough terrain surfaces. Any recommendations?
Budget under $300, will buy used also.

Road bike info based on my height: frame measurment 55cm or 22"; mountain bike frame 46cm and 18"

I have a beautiful 2013 Giant Roam 2 that would be perfect for you in your size but your way too far from me. That being said I think a hybrid bike would be the way to go for what you described.

'01 Trek Silver and Red Y1, just started trail riding about 6monhts ago but have only had the chance to go about 3x. I love it I just can't find anybody to go with. I like semi-aggressive to aggressive terrain and its not good to go alone in case of an accident. Therefore, I have to depend on others to go with me. :(

Nice time for a thread bump. I was up in Whistler for May Long weekend riding the bike park.

Was a blast, looks like they have a lot of early work done on the slopestyle course for the FMB and crankworx. I guess such a shitty winter has an upside for those of us who also ride downhill.

Nice. I'll be going up there this summer for sure. Stevens is opening this weekend. A month early!

Whistler, Canada. Arguably the best bike park in the world.

Whistler is a year round outdoor destination, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, mountain biking in the summer, you can go bungee jumping, they have ziplines, best hiking trails ever, etc.

The Vancouver 2010 olympics had a variety of the events held at whistler.

I've been biking in some crazy places, croatia, south america, etc. All I can say is that when I return home and hit up the bike park at whistler, I remember why this region is mountain biking meca.

Only the lower portion of the hill is open at this point (this portion opened over a month earlier than usual due to the warmer than average conditions), but a myriad of technical and flowy trails open ranging from green runs to double blacks.

Opened my day up on a nice flowy blue run, and then took it to A-Line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlXYyqSKH64

Whistler is in a weird kind of place right now, the blackcomb side of the mountain is open to skiers and boarders and whistler itself is open to mountain biking. So we hit up the bar afterwards and talking with people around us a bunch of them had just had a crazy day snowboarding the terrain park, while we had been shredding the bike park. It's a really odd thing, and probably one the only places in the world you could conceivably, ski, mountain bike, and hit the beach in the same day.

You're lucky to live near there meme. I guess I am too as its only a few hrs north. Still need to make it out there with the fam for some hiking/gondola rides

So everyone is comming into the shop with these Fat Tire Bikes.

Been customizing it for these guys. Colored grips, chains, sealed pedals, colored rim strips, hydraulic brakes, carbon bars, and more.

With Gorilla bars. I've never taken it out on the beach, but I have taken it out for many a beer on many a night on the Virginia Beach boardwalk.
