The Random Question Thread

Anyone know where to buy the H&R spacer nuts that come with the bolt on spacers
Thanks

I have been trying to diagnose a popping noise coming from my drivers side front of the car. I thought it was at first the struts, had those, shocks, strut bearings, and springs changed out. It was still making noise so I went ahead and resecured my fog HID ballasts this weekend. Yet there is still a popping noise going over bumps! I have new AP Racing brakes on now as well so that is not it either. Any suggestions on what the issue could be? Thanks in advance!

do you got gtspec strut bar? could the fx flexing and it hitting the hood. im pretty sure thats what is causing my poping noise

I had something similar and it was actually the latch on the hood had come loose. You couldn't see the movement, but it was the same popping sound when going over bumps. Mine sounded like the passengers side, but could be the same issue.

Ill check that out! Thank you, never would have thought of that.

Anyone know where to find the black aftermarket infiniti fx35 grille in black??? I used to see them everywhere now that Im thinking of getting one I cant find them anywhere.

I assume you're asking about the badgeless grille? They were all over ebay for a while. Might still be there.

Anyone have one of those black aftermarket grilles that K2 was selling for sale or trade? In good condition?

I love my air compressor and think that everyone should have one in their garage. An impact wrench is one of my favorite tools for the cool sound alone. But honestly, I would rather muscle through 5 or 20 lug nuts than get out air tools. I may have lost interest in cleaning and oiling them. Plus I would hate to damage wheels or lugs if not on my OEMs.
Still, I'd say to get one anyways but I don't have a recommendation.
If I were to go buy a jack tomorrow, I'd get the aluminum one from Harbor Freight. I don't usually recommend HF for tools, but that aluminum jack is pretty good bang for buck.

Bought a compressor for closing my pool, clearing out my sprinklers, etc:

Thought now I would get the tools for just being able to switch out to winter tires and rotate when desired.

What would you recommend for a good reliable accurate and affordable torque wrench, impact gun, and jack kit be?
Good for you Jonas, glad you are going to start changing your own tires and wheels.
I purchased this floor jack from Tire rack a few years ago, it works great on my full size 4x4 and my FX. Here is a link : https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=13610-Floor-Jack-or-Ramp?p=219012#post219012
As to power tools, I don't bother with them for changing wheels, I only do two vehicles and it is just as easy and cheaper to do it with hand tools. I have 4 different torque wrenches for torquing different items.
Get yourself some good wheel chocks also.
I have a small compressor but I only use it for airing up tires and attaching an air gun.

Andy what's the jack that you have? I remember the jackstand was part of the actual floor jack and thought that it was pretty cool and fast.

Wayne, do you know what torque wrench aaron bought? I know he was really happy with it and had done a good amount of research, but I know he isn't online much anymore with his new gf. lol

I also recall this being a favorite of Jeff's which seems similar to the tire rack one.

Jonas, Aaron bought a Eastwood digital torque wrench. If you are buying a torque wrench mainly for wheels get a 1/2" drive for sure.

harbor freight 1/2 torque wrench for 12 box does the job just fine. No need for expensive ones.
