Ray's Boost

Wow. That is terrible. Props to you for not giving up on it, she will end up rewarding you once you are done.

You sir have the patience of a saint.

Thanks guys....i hear that a lot about my patience....but to be honest i gues the only reason why i am is because i'm already that far in. If i wasn't i probably bailed this in an instant. Can't for the love of god understand why others had no tranny issue till say 500 cranck Hp and i aready had issue say like around 400. But forgetting this issue asap and moving on....M/T here i come.

Good luck with M/T. And honestly, I'm amazed you're sticking with it. Most people have sold projects with less problems.

I can't believe your torque converter worked loose, those bolts very rarely come loose. I guess it's possible that the converter came loose and took out the flexplate which would then cause engine issues. It is surprising that you had transmission issues at relatively lower power levels. But whenever you exceed factory power levels, it's all a gamble as to what will hold up and what won't.

most people have stop-loss point... have you considered doing what your friend did with the ls3 option? it's disheartening to see people sinking big $$$ into long custom builds and not really enjoying much out of it.

True that shadow. But have to confirm that TC did not come loose. I might have explained it wrong. Its the internal bearing, so the axle on wich you slight over the TC wich has room to wiggle around. One trans guy says its normal to have such room another says no.....no room is ok there. But with burned oil and metal within the tranny i no longer am comfortable with my tranny and sure it will ever hold the powerlevels i want. If i would know this before i would have done the conversion straight away. But with rookie and jumbo ahead and with their numbers i thought it would fit the par.......gues not.

I did think about that but again am already too far in. Ecu.... fuel rail.....coils....and all other stuff wich cannot be used anymore. Whole new ballgame. And he used the GM tranny and had to cut up his whole car...... (race/driftcar no streetcar) on back then that kinda scared me. Now i know you can adapt nissan tranny's as well. But thats just afterwards

So twin plate clutch has been ordered and have been to the scrapeyard al day and found the Z's CD009 tranny. This seem to be the one eveybody wants as it has the upgraded synchromesh. Also got all other needed parts such as ....mastercylinder....pedals.....centerconsole. ....handbrake....etc... so time to take things apart and start fitting. I noticed Rookie used a G35 console wich i cannot get here so try to work with the Z first. I'll use my "old" engine and the tranny for mock-up so in the meanwhile my engine can be done. Progress is being made.....again e4e6ata6.jpg5a9anuqa.jpgvy5ygu3a.jpg

Not something i had planned dave but i'm sick and tired of "limitations" so this would be a must have. Forgot to mention my heads and cams died on me as well. Am not going to buy HKS cams at 1K minimum for the third time so oem it is. Hearts me even more cause with the A/T they weren't even neccasary but with the M/T ahead they would have worked beter.... ..choices have to be made.....mostly by my wallet though LOL

crazy how much you have in this already. Hope you end up liking the results. You must really love your car . . . . & hate it at the same time :)

Think of that manual . . lighting up the rear & then going through the gears. Gonna be great

Update: i had to wait a while to arrange everything and had to order some parts as well. Before my crank/flywheel and ATI can be balanced i had to wait for my twinplate clutch to come in from the manufacturer......no firm runs stock on these things here in holland or around. I also ordered some ARP flywheel bolts and some new piston rings just to be certain all is well. Tonight i'm gonna move the FX to my friends place where my first engine was installed as well. He was kinda busy lately so i had to wait as well for him to make some room.
I found a clutch master cylinder upgrade from wilwood as well. Zspeed in the us offers it but i have my own ways. Unfortunatly i just found out it needs to be customized as well. Something wich they already did but asking a few more buucks for it also. so this weekend i'm hoping on starting to mount the pedals and take the centerconsole apart. I took my (second) old engine and am going to use this for mock up with the new M/T tranny.in the meanwhile my new engine is getting bored and cranck balanced...so hope i planned everything well enough for all to go smooth.....we'll see.........nothing smooth with this projekt LOL

This is gonna be a nice build. I think yours will be the 3rd manual done to date.

Thought i would be the second.....any topic/thread on the other one. Couldn't find much info from viet as well so and troubleshooters ahead would be welkom off course.
