There is indeed one screw for the glove box behind the side kick panel. I, too, cannot remove the side kick panel; something is holding it near the top-back edge. I cannot access the right screw for the glove box that's behind that panel. How do you get to that screw without removing the side kick panel?

Never mind. There are two metal clips at the top back of the side kick panel that require a LOT of force to pull out. I used a long screwdriver as a lever close to the rearmost clip and was able to remove the panel. I reinstalled it with SILICONE GREASE on the clips!!!!

I just changed my cabin filter. The kick panel needs to pulled to the inside(left if you're facing the front) of the car to come off.

didn't do it

I looked this procedure up already and thought this is really complicated, a little surprised, i'm an HVAC designer and think this should be easier ... anyway, I decided not to replace the filter, mine is missing, and I can't see that it makes much difference ... car smells fine, at most the evap would need to be cleaned some, but i have good air

Lol at this. So many inconsistencies and ironies.. You of all people should be the advocate for proper ventilation and filtration. The filter is the only thing between your cabin and the engine bay. It's a 5 min job, it's worth it.

Here's a pic of my cabin filter at 106k miles. I dont think it was ever replaced.
