Wipe New (Restore Your Black Bumper Trim)

I had purchased this awhile ago and only recently applied the product as instructed. My diffuser if course is fairly new with only a nick or two but I do like how black it makes it look.

I'll update everyone in a month or so to see how it holds up especially since I do get numerous washes a week :)

Glad it worked out for you, it should stand the test of time, at least it did for me. I just bought two bottles from Walmart the other day they had them for $19.78. I'm going to touch mines up when I get the chance. My trim wouldn't even need to be touched up if it wasn't for the fact that someone getting into my car carelessly dragged the straps to their backpack along the side of my rear drivers side trim and the buckles scratched the trim also while I was parked it looks like someone bumper tapped my rear trim and nicked it. Other than that it has held up well and I am still not disappointed, hope you end up as satisfied as I am.

Looks great Elaine! I may have to copy you on this also. First the Zaino, now the wipe new! Keep us posted on how it looks especially since you wash your car like every other day!

Try Walmart. I found it at the Walmart in Valley Stream by Green Acres Mall, someone else on the forum texted me and said they found it at CVS.

Thanks for the write up

No prob.

Great write up. I've seen this on tv. I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks!

Yeah it does work. I'm just starting to see areas that need a decent touch up. The bumpers still look great but I have a bad habit of putting my foot up on the door panel when I am sitting in the car with the door open and the molding under the door panel is starting to show light scratches of the original finish from the bottom of the sneakers/boots/shoes rubbing against it constantly. You can only see it when the door is open but it looks like it's going to need a good touch up there. Overall I am very happy with the product so I'm going to just coat all the moldings again before old man winter kicks in. This will be my first touch up since I first applied it. Whenever i get around to it that is. I feel like i got my money worth of shine from it lol.

I found it not too long ago in Walmart in the car section where the waxes and stuff are. Still wasn't cheap but it wasn't as expensive as online. Make sure you take your time applying it, takes a bit of finesse.

Neva, I just recently joined this site and tried this Wipe New out, and I gotta tell you that the stuff really does work! I bought 2 bottles @ walmart in case (bottle very small). As you say 1 bottle does go a long way as I used it on my 03" FX. I also used it on some of the interior plastics and was very suprised/happy with the results. This stuff leaves a hard shiney finish that dosen't wipe off. I didnt use 2nd bottle but will hold on to it. Dont know how long the exterior application lasts but seems very durable. Good stuff, Thanks!

Makes you wonder how this product works. Does it put on a fast drying clear coat? They market this to last for "years"...

Phantom- Dont know the colonels secret recipe, there are no ingredients listed on bottle but I can honestly say this product brought back a nice shine to my faded plastic accessories. If you dont mind overlooking the cost $20. per tiny bottle you wont be disappointed. I did mine up and garaged it till next day, I didnt want to touch it while drying and screw it up. 2 car washes & one snowfall later its held up as advertised. Wish I taken before/after pics but Im not allowed to post pics anyway (newbie) rules. From the looks of your fine ride you wont need much. Good Luck!

Oh I don't mind paying if it works, just have to see if I can find this here in Toronto lol

No prob, a few people have had success with it. It leaves some kind of thin acrylic layer similar to a clear coat of paint on the bumper. Some like it and some don't. Personally I like it, in my opinion it leaves a look similar to what the plastics would look like if you wipe them with Armor All, and pretty much just lasts a really long time. I haven't used it used on anything but the outside black bumper trim and I don't know if I would use it for much else, it looks like if your not careful with it, the finish could end up looking real sloppy like streaky and swirly. It lasted me a really long time, I still haven't put on a second application, though I do need one now but look how long ago I started this thread and the first application was already more than a few months old then.

If you are looking for an amazing product for ANY dark trim (have not tried with light trim) including dash, door panels, body under moldings (as discussed in this thread) AND tires.... search no further! :) Give the Chemical Guys Black to Black spray a try. This stuff is amazing. It's not black but rather a clear spray that will bring back the luster of your trim. I also use it on the engine compartment.

I really can't speak highly enough about this stuff. It works on everything and is very easy to clean off if you get it on windows or paint. Read up on it and check the reviews. I buy the three can deal when I need more which isn't that often. It is very efficient in coverage.

I used it on my truck head lights and it really cleared them up! No buffing just wiped it on and they came clean or I should say clear. Not like new, but she pretty old and I never messed with trying to clear up the headlights before. The truck is a 99 Nissan Frontier 4x4 though, lol I am too scared to mess with the FX because that stuff seems soooo toxic. If she was older and faded I guess I would give it a shot. Your testimony says something for sure and that's why I came to the board!

Onceloayl stole my answer, because he is me!! Sorry admins I spelled my user name wrong on my first registration!!! So Wipe New... Yes what he said above!! :)

After reading through this thread, I happened to stumble across Wipe New last night at Rite Aid. I decided to pick it up and give it a try. Today I applied it to the external trim and really does make the trim look brand new. Hopefully it actually lasts as long as the box says. I also did my friends Passat with the same bottle, and I still have some left over (maybe a quarter of the small bottle).

^^ Haha! I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up. Don't have any close up pics of the trim pre-Wipe New though, sorry.
