What went wrong with your FX today?

Recently did a carbon vinyl wrap on the center console where I had to disconnect all the plugs including the Passenger Airbag sensor light. For whatever reason after I finished and plugged everything back in, the airbag light stayed lit, and stayed blinking on the dashboard. Turned out, it's the signal error that caused by the plug off&on. So I came across this video and it all fixed now.
Here is the link. This guy explained it pretty well

jptshadow, thanks for that information. When you had it replace at Infinity, was the problem present while being check? I have a 3rd party extended warranty but if the issue is not present i don't think my warranty will pay for it. i just wonder if there is some kind a log that it happened.

Yea, so I was told the same thing "nothing will be fixed unless the issues present". At the time of purchasing warranty, it got pretty bad where the radio would not turn on at all and the battery was drained every other day or so. If the issue you have is the same as mine, then you will of course have to wait like I did until it gets pretty frequent, where I ended up buy this (see below) to stand by in case the battery drained out on me in the middle of nowhere which did happen a few times.

If one day u do go in, they might ask you to change the battery first which is totally unnecessary (I was told the Voltage was low, total BS). Tell them to fish for "open circuit" in the radio unit and see if anything comes up.

Totally besides the point, but driving w/o music kills me. So I also bought this at the time and put it in the center console lol pretty ghetto but who cares.

Good morning scene I just found out that 2 out of the 4 power outlets went out on me. The one next to the ashtray and the one behind the center rest to be exact. Would this be a fuse issue?

Hi All. I have a 2015 QX70 that I've owned for a couple of months that has an intermittent problem with the auto tailgate not working. It beeps and tries to open, but then aborts. It closes using the auto button absolutely fine, so there's definitely nothing blocking it. My warranty runs out in June, but the service centre were unable to replicate the issue, so I'm stuck with the problem for the time being. I've emailed them now, with an attached video, asking if they can start replacing parts like the motor or the holding rods while I'm still in warranty, and am awaiting a response.
What doesn't help is the fact my nearest service centre is an hour and a half round trip, so I don't want to keep going back and forth trying to get it sorted.
Any advice would definitely be appreciated.

Sounds like it's sticking... Check to make sure nothing is getting in it's way when it's fully closed (jacket stuck in the weatherstripping, etc) and check to make sure there isn't any debris in the loop thingy... Other than that, you may want to lubricate the pieces of the locking mechanism and go from there... The fact that it goes down without issue suggests that it's the release that's having issues, and most commonly that involves something with the actual locking mechanism...

I had the same problem. It depended on the angle the FX was parked at. Parked at a slightly declined slope, it typically opened but level or parked at an incline the damn thing refused to open. I installed ebay door lock actuator replacements and it opens every time. Gremlins.

Thanks guys. I'll get the loob out and look into the actuator too if I still have issues.
Appreciate the responses.

Well, what do you know. A simple squirt of WD40 into the locking mechanism seems to have done the trick. Thanks DatMan. Will definitely keep the replacement actuator parts in mind too, especially if the service centre do end up offering me some parts on warranty
I feel pretty dumb that I hadn't thought to squirt something into the lock, but I also thought this would have been the first thing the garage would have done too. Anyway, it's a good job someone's using their common sense.
Thanks again!

Firstly, thank you all for your knowledge shared in here. Great weekend reading.

I have the window regulator issue on my 2011 FX37S so the window is stuck down and that means trouble with the UK weather conditions! (Summer = warmer rain)

Tools at the ready and a clear idea of what I’m doing, let’s see if this UK spec vehicle reveals any surprises

Did you try to operate it from the door switch on that particular door, as well as the driver’s?

When mine wouldn’t close, I reached back and used the closest button, and “Voila!”

Thanks, gave it a go but nothing. Stripped the door and it’s the cable which has frayed and accumulated in a knot in one of the sleeves.

A day on the phone has located one for £60 GBP so order placed..

Thanks

Real bad noise when I set off today. Sounds like a front wheel bearing...I've had wheels off to check for anything on the brakes.
Seems weird that when I parked up last week it was fine,so no gradual build up of noise but today it's bad. Looks like a trip to my friendly garage.
Only on 56k miles too.

I think my FX is haunted......Driving to work and the door locks kept cycling. Pulled over. Shut it down and got out. Turned off auto-lock feature, set and disarmed the alarm a couple of times and got back in. After a couple of minutes, the doors locked on me and I manually unlocked the driver door. It immediately locked. I unlocked it again and it locked again. Got to work, set the alarm and walked away. After work, the car was unlocked and disarmed. Any ideas or should I just call a Priest!

Hi, my VDC icon is staying on. Not the expected flashing when the car is searching for grip (I assume, as I've never actually had this happen), but a couple of times in cold weather, it has just come on and stayed on. It resets when the car is restarted.
I've booked someone to do a diagnostic, but I've also noticed an "RAS" light coming on at the same time. I can't seem to find a reference to this in the manual though.
Any advice before I see the mechanic is appreciated.

Check be as simple as low brake fluid level. Also could be sign of low pad thickness on rears.

You can also try an ECU reset. Disconnect battery. If that doesn’t do it, you can try using pedal method to reset.
